Before starting, equip a pack of five; during the match, a machine can give you an eligible gum from that pack. Pick it up, then activate it when you want its effect. You can carry up to three unique gums at once.
How the GobbleGum machine loop works
- Equip a pack. In your Zombies Loadout, choose a pack containing five GobbleGums. Its first three gums are available to start the match, while all five determine which gums the machine can offer. - Interact with a machine. A draw costs no Essence. The machine randomly offers an eligible gum from your active pack, subject to your carried gums and remaining stock. Blizzard’s Black Ops 6 Zombies overview
- Pick up the result. Seeing a result does not activate it. You must collect the gum from the machine before it enters your carried inventory.
- Activate it when useful. Chewing consumes the gum and starts its effect according to its timing: immediately, for a set duration, or when a stated condition occurs.
You can hold up to three unique gums at once. If you already carry a gum, the machine offers one you do not have, provided there is stock remaining. If the relevant stock has run out, it gives Mr. Peeks flavorless gum, which has no special effect. Unused gums remain in your collection between matches, and the official overview says they are not lost if you disconnect.

When GobbleGum effects begin
The timing printed in a gum’s effect matters: some resolve as soon as you chew, some run for a duration, and others wait for a trigger. The official guide’s examples show why a gum should be chosen for the moment or objective rather than treated as a generic bonus.

| Conditional | Crate Power | Applies to the next Mystery Box spin; the next weapon taken from the box is Pack-a-Punched. |
Depending on the specific gum, its effect may benefit you, your held weapon or item, or your squad. Check the gum’s description for its target and trigger before spending it.

How to choose a pack for an objective
Start with what the match requires, then look at each gum’s timing, target, and utility. The official guide offers a quest-oriented example pack: Perkaholic, Timeout, Phoenix Up, Arsenal Accelerator, Kill Joy, and Shields Up. It is a suggested set, not a required build.
- Main quest or Easter Egg: Favor options that support survival and give you more time to work through steps. The guide’s sample includes survivability and time-oriented choices.
- Weapon setup: Crate Power is an example for pursuing a Pack-a-Punched weapon from the Mystery Box.
- Salvage: Dead Drop is an official example for a challenge involving Salvage.
- Team needs: Check whether a gum affects only you or can help the squad; do not assume every effect is shared.
- Rarity and fun: The guide describes Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Ultra utility tiers. Whimsical gums are for fun rather than gameplay advantage.
Unlocks, stock, and earning more gums
Activision Support says all GobbleGums are unlocked from the start of Black Ops 6. Gums shown among Level Unlocks grant an extra one-time-use item; they do not mean the gum itself is locked until that level. Activision Support’s progression guide

Official materials describe earning additional gums by playing Zombies and surviving rounds. They do not establish exact per-round drop probabilities, a guaranteed reward schedule, or a rarity-specific earning formula, so there is no verified rate to use when planning how quickly a particular gum will replenish.
