That quest progresses your Generation; it is not the same as changing your Generation with a reroll. If your game is still labeled Fire Force Online, check the live client before following instructions, because older guides describe different mechanics.
Before you start: confirm which version you are playing
Guides using the name Fire Force Reignition describe the level-40 quest path below. Older material for Fire Force Online uses legacy terminology and describes a smaller set of Generation types, so do not assume that an older guide’s steps apply to the current experience. A secondary guide identifies a Trello board as the official Reignition board for information such as trainers, abilities, modes, bosses, and clans, but its current details are not confirmed here. Pro Game Guides’ Reignition beginner guide and the in-game quest prompts are the practical starting references.
How to start the Generation Upgrade quest
- Reach level 40. Pro Game Guides identifies level 40 as the starting point for the Generation Upgrade path.
- Find and speak with Eugene. The guide describes Eugene as a scientist NPC who can teleport you to the lab.
- Follow the mission chain for your Generation. The guide says each Generation has its own missions. Use the current in-game prompts to determine the objectives and next step; exact objectives, costs, and rewards are not established in the available guide.
Upgrade quest or Generation reroll?
Choose based on what you mean by “upgrade.” The quest is a mission progression path; a reroll is the separately described mechanic for changing the Generation you have. A reroll is not guaranteed to give you a particular Generation.

How to check your Generation
A 2025 third-party Reignition guide says that after Rank 5 you can open the menu, select Skill Tree, and look in the lower-left corner to see your Generation. Treat that path as version-dependent: verify the labels in your current client if the menu differs. The same guide describes Generation 1 as weapon-based, Generation 2 as using an external fire source, and Generation 3 as producing its own flame; it also discusses Generation 5 as a special type. These are dated guide descriptions, not a guarantee that the live game currently presents every type or label this way. What to do if Eugene or the quest is missing
- Check that your character has reached level 40, the gate reported for the Reignition upgrade path.
- Confirm that you are in the Reignition experience rather than relying on an older Fire Force Online guide.
- Read the in-game prompts and check the currently available board or game information for updated NPC locations and mission requirements. The exact mission route is not established by the cited beginner guide.
