To win more often at dice in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, learn the scoring combinations, set aside at least one scoring die after every roll, and bank before a risky reroll can erase your turn’s points. There is no guaranteed winning strategy: your best choice depends on how many dice remain, your current unbanked total, and the match score.
How a dice turn works
Dice is a score-building game, not a contest to make the best single hand. Each turn begins with six dice. After a roll, choose at least one scoring die or scoring combination; selected dice are set aside for the rest of that turn. Then choose whether to bank the turn’s accumulated points and pass, or roll the remaining dice again.

Banking secures the points accumulated during the turn. If you continue, those points remain at risk: a roll with no scoring dice is a bust, ending your turn and losing its entire unbanked total. If all six dice score in a turn, you can roll all six again. See Gamer Guides’ dice rules and tips for the documented mechanics.
Scoring combinations to know
The listed basic scores are:
| Roll or combination | Points |
|---|---|
| Single 1 | 100 |
| Single 5 | 50 |
| Three 1s | 1,000 |
| Three 2s | 200 |
| Three 3s | 300 |
| Three 4s | 400 |
| Three 5s | 500 |
| Three 6s | 600 |
| Straight 1–5 | 500 |
| Straight 2–6 | 750 |
| Straight 1–6 | 1,500 |
These values are the combinations listed by Gamer Guides. A September 2026 guide says four or more of a kind double the previous value with each added matching die, but presentations of combinations are not fully consistent across the cited guides. For any additional combinations, use the scoring help in your current game rather than assuming an incomplete table covers every rule.

When to keep dice and when to bank
Keep enough dice for a sensible next roll
Every scoring die you set aside reduces the number available for your next roll. A weak roll with only one 1 or, if there is no 1, one 5 can be a practical keep: it scores while leaving more dice available to look for another scorer. This is a heuristic, not a guaranteed best move. Keeping several dice may earn more immediately, but it leaves fewer dice to roll and can make a bust more costly.
Bank when the risk outweighs the possible gain
Before continuing, compare the points already at risk with what another roll could add. If you have built a useful turn total and have only a few dice left, banking may be wiser than chasing a small extra score. A bust wipes out the whole unbanked total, not just the points from the latest roll.

Use the match score, not a fixed banking number
There is no universal number at which you should always stop. Consider the match target, your opponent’s score, and whether you are ahead or need a larger turn to catch up. When ahead or level, taking a secure score can be preferable to risking it for a marginal increase; when behind, continuing may be worth the risk. These are situational choices, not an optimal threshold established for every match. Method.gg’s dice guide also recommends weighing the risk of continuing against the points already accumulated.
How special dice and badges affect your choices
You can select special dice before a match. Some favor particular faces or otherwise alter the odds, which can make certain scoring combinations more attractive. Compare the dice by the faces they favor, any special or wild result, how well they work together for repeatable scoring, and the badge effects available in the match. The item references at INARA and Gamer Guides’ best-dice guide describe different die effects, but do not establish one universally best set.

Badges can modify a match, and their effects differ. Read the description for the specific badge you equip, and check whether your opponent can use one too. A favorable die or badge can change the possibilities, but it does not remove the risk of a bust.

A GamesRadar+ report describes a Balatro-themed quest involving Jimbo in update 1.5.6. It reports that Balatro’s die has a jester face that can count as a chosen number, and that the Tin Balatro badge can change that die’s result once per game. Check your installed game version and quest progress; the report does not establish that the content is available in every platform, save, or current installation.
