How did Pokémon GO Pass: April work?
The pass ran from April 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. through May 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., local time. Players completed Pass Tasks to earn GO Points. Those points advanced their rank, and each rank unlocked rewards. Niantic describes GO Pass as a reward system that runs for a set period and can grant items, avatar items, Candy, encounters, and timed bonuses as players progress. Pokémon GO automatically granted the standard April pass. A special catch-up window ran May 2 at 12:00 a.m. through May 3 at 11:59 p.m., local time; during that window, there was no daily limit on GO Points earned. Pokémon GO’s April announcement lists the event-specific rules and rewards.
Was the April pass free, and what did Deluxe cost?
The standard pass was free. Players could upgrade to Deluxe for US$7.99, or choose Deluxe + 10 Ranks for US$9.99. Pokémon GO listed those amounts in USD with equivalent local-currency pricing tiers, so the exact price could vary by region. Deluxe + 10 Ranks included enough GO Points to reach Rank 11. Deluxe players could claim rewards on both tracks, and upgrading later still allowed them to claim rewards for ranks they had already unlocked.

The Deluxe upgrades were also sold through the Pokémon GO Web Store. During this April offer, either Web Store Deluxe option included a gift with purchase: 10 Ultra Balls, five Max Revives, one Premium Battle Pass, and five Max Potions. The announcement also listed a Web Store-exclusive Deluxe Ultra Box with additional in-game items. These were historical offers for the April pass, not current availability.
What rewards and rank bonuses were included?
The free track featured an Entei encounter, Stardust, XP, Max Particles, and other items. Deluxe added a Lucky Trinket, a Super Incubator, additional Pokémon encounters, and other rewards. A Shiny Entei was possible, but it was not guaranteed.

How the Lucky Trinket worked
The Lucky Trinket was a one-time-use item that could make an eligible friend Lucky, including before the two players reached Best Friends status. The friend had to be at least Great Friends. Once they became Lucky Friends, their next trade made the traded Pokémon Lucky. Using the Trinket did not change trading distance.

The April pass ended May 5, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. Unclaimed pass rewards expired May 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. local time. The Lucky Trinket had its own deadline: it expired May 12, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. local time, regardless of when it was claimed. All of these dates have passed.
