If you have the Mega Dimension DLC, Game8 also reports Charmander in 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones, though an encounter is not guaranteed by the available information.
Route 1: Choose Charmander in Mable’s side mission
Game8 identifies Side Mission 22, “A Call from Mable,” as the direct way to obtain Charmander. Mable is the acting director of the Pokémon Research Lab and gives the player research requests, according to Pokémon’s official character page. Game8’s guide, last updated January 13, 2026, says the mission lets you select one of the Kanto starters: Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle. See its Charmander location guide.
Because this is a one-Pokémon choice, select Charmander if it is the one you want. The mission’s reward does not give you the whole trio.
Route 2: Look in a 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zone with the DLC
Game8 also reports Charmander as an encounter in 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones in Mega Dimension. This is a wild-encounter route rather than the Mable mission’s single-starter choice. The guide does not establish encounter odds or a guaranteed way to make Charmander appear, so treat it as a possible encounter, not a sure spawn.

Which route should you use?
| Route | What it offers | Best fit |
|---|---|---|
| Mable’s Side Mission 22 | Choose one of Charmander, Bulbasaur, or Squirtle, according to Game8’s guide. | You want Charmander as your starter reward and have not used the mission’s choice on another Pokémon. |
| 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones | Game8 reports Charmander can appear there with the Mega Dimension DLC; no odds or guarantee are established. | You own the DLC and want to try for a wild encounter rather than rely on the mission choice. |
How to catch it if it appears in the wild
Pokémon’s general catching guide says to aim and throw a Poké Ball. Hiding from a Pokémon’s view or lowering its HP can make it easier to catch. This is general advice for wild Pokémon, not Charmander-specific testing. The official game site provides the game’s main information.

Don’t rely on the expired Charizard gift
A separate official offer distributed an Alpha Charizard—not Charmander—between December 9, 2025 and January 19, 2026. That Mystery Gift period has ended, so it is not a current way to obtain either Pokémon. The original official Charizard announcement gives the offer details.
