To level a weapon in Arknights: Endfield, add weapon EXP using dedicated weapon EXP materials or other weapons. Arms Inspector-series items are identified as weapon EXP materials. Tuning is a separate action, not the step that adds levels.

How weapon leveling works

Weapon leveling uses EXP: apply weapon EXP materials or other weapons as EXP fodder. The END Wiki’s system tutorial identifies both inputs and lists Arms Inspector-series materials as usable across levels. It does not establish item-by-item EXP values or a complete cost table.

Before consuming another weapon, check the upgrade screen’s preview. The available sources do not establish a universal best choice or compare the EXP value and opportunity cost of each input.

Leveling and tuning are different actions

Adding EXP raises a weapon’s level. Tuning is a separate weapon-progression action: the END Wiki’s Cast Die reference identifies Cast Die as a tuning material. Do not treat tuning as the level-up step.

Choose a weapon for an Operator

The official release preview describes a matching-weapon feature on the Operator – Weapons screen. It recommends a weapon based on an Operator’s skills and attributes, which can help with weapon selection; it does not upgrade the weapon. Read the official release preview.

Check the current game for caps and costs

In its January 17, 2026 release preview, the Arknights: Endfield Team said it lowered Operator and weapon level caps for official release and increased the availability and quantity of early-game progression materials. These release changes mean older guides may show figures that no longer apply. Exact current caps, material costs, T-Cred costs, menu steps, and farming locations are not established by the sources cited here, so check the weapon’s in-game upgrade screen for the values in your current version.
