Yellow Loong is the exception: he appears in Chapter 4 only after Red, Black, and Cyan Loong have been defeated.
Get the Loong Scales first
The Loong Scales are the shared key item for opening the hidden Loong arenas. Find them in Chapter 2, around the First Prince of Flowing Sands arena. One described route is to break a damaged wall near the arena and open the chest beyond it. For a step-by-step item route, see PowerPyx’s Loong Scales location guide.
Once the scales are in your inventory, return to the waterfalls and sandfall described below. The first three encounters are location-based; the supported route does not require defeating those bosses in a particular order. Yellow Loong has a separate prerequisite.
Loong boss locations and prerequisites
| Boss | Chapter and location | Entrance or landmark | Prerequisite |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red Loong | Chapter 1, Forest of Wolves | Waterfall near the Outside the Forest shrine | Loong Scales |
| Black Loong | Chapter 2, Fright Cliff | Sandfall near Rockrest Flat; entrance leads to Hidden Loong Cavern | Loong Scales |
| Cyan Loong | Chapter 3, Bitter Lake on Turtle Island | Bitter Lake area | Loong Scales |
| Yellow Loong | Chapter 4, Webbed Hollow | Relief of the Fallen Loong | Defeat Red, Black, and Cyan Loong first |

Black Loong — Chapter 2
In Fright Cliff, start from the Rockrest Flat shrine. Go up the stairs toward the sand waterfall and interact with it while carrying the Loong Scales to reveal the entrance to Hidden Loong Cavern. See Game8’s Black Loong guide for the landmark route.
Cyan Loong — Chapter 3
Travel to Bitter Lake on Turtle Island and look for Cyan Loong in that area. The Loong Scales are the access trigger for the hidden Loong encounters; no separate requirement to defeat Red or Black first is established for Cyan. The location is covered in Game8’s Cyan Loong guide.

Yellow Loong is at Webbed Hollow, at the Relief of the Fallen Loong. Defeat Red, Black, and Cyan Loong before going there; those three victories are the stated gate for this encounter. The location and prerequisite are also listed in Game8’s Yellow Loong guide.
If Yellow Loong is not there
- Confirm Red Loong has been defeated in Chapter 1.
- Confirm Black Loong has been defeated in Chapter 2.
- Confirm Cyan Loong has been defeated in Chapter 3.
- Check that the Loong Scales are in your inventory, then return to Relief of the Fallen Loong.
The scales unlock access to the hidden Loong areas, while Yellow Loong’s additional gate is defeating the other three. The three earlier fights do not have a stated fixed order.

What the fights reward
A walkthrough description reports that each of the four bosses drops a Loong Pearl and says the pearls are used to craft spear weapons, including the Golden Loong Staff. It does not provide a complete recipe or crafting-unlock path, so check the in-game crafting requirements before planning around a specific weapon. The four-boss route is also shown in HarryNinetyFour’s All Secret Loong Dragon Boss Locations walkthrough, published August 24, 2024.
