Riot says the PBE is closed to public testing and is accepting no new signups; it has not announced a reopening date. The regular VALORANT download is for the live game, not a way into the PBE.
Can you download the VALORANT PBE right now?
No. Riot’s current PBE FAQ, dated April 9, 2026, says the environment is closed for the time being, has no public tests underway, and is not accepting new signups. Riot has not provided a date for reopening.

Even if you signed up in the past, previous participation does not guarantee access if the PBE returns. Riot says former participants may need to sign up again.
What to do if you want to join later
- Watch Riot’s official VALORANT updates for an announcement that the PBE is open again.
- Check Riot’s current PBE FAQ for the status and any new signup instructions.
- Do not rely on older application or download steps unless Riot confirms they apply to a reopened test.
Riot has not announced when the PBE will reopen, so there is no current application window or download route to follow.

Why older PBE download instructions may not work
When Riot introduced the PBE in June 2021, its launch announcement described a limited, selective testing program. At that time, players applied with a VALORANT account and waited for a response with further download instructions. Riot framed the tests as a way to find bugs and assess stability in proposed updates before they reached the live game.
Those steps describe the original rollout, not a working method today. The 2021 announcement’s limited North American access and scheduled weekend tests are historical details, not current eligibility or scheduling information.

Does the regular VALORANT download include the PBE?
No. Riot’s VALORANT download page is for the regular live game. It does not establish PBE access or provide a current PBE download. Downloading the live client will not bypass the closed signup process.
