To fight the Moon Lord in Palworld, find the Celestial Sigil Schematic in the Terraria Dungeon, craft a Celestial Sigil with 100 Hallowed Bars, then use it at a Summoning Altar. In the raid, destroy the eyes in the head and both hands; when all three are gone, attack the exposed heart. Bring accurate ranged damage, mobility, and an arena you can afford to lose.
Unlock and summon the Moon Lord
- Search Terraria Dungeon chests in the chamber beyond the Eye of Cthulhu for the Celestial Sigil Schematic. This location and recipe are reported in the Palworld Tools / Palpagos Field Guide, whose data is labeled Palworld v1.0.5, build 25246127, and was updated October 3, 2026.
- Craft a Celestial Sigil using 100 Hallowed Bars.
- Offer the sigil at a Summoning Altar to start the raid.
The retrieved guides do not establish a required player level or prior boss clear. The Moon Lord’s level 50 listing is the boss’s reported level, not a stated summoning requirement.
How the fight works
The Moon Lord has three eye targets: one in its head and one in each hand. Damage the eyes when they are available. After all three are defeated, the chest opens and the heart becomes the final target. The version-specific guide reports 422,500 HP for the standard encounter; treat this as guide data, not an official developer statistic.
Each destroyed eye releases a True Eye of Cthulhu. The detached eyes continue attacking but are invulnerable, so keep moving and focus shots on the Moon Lord’s remaining eyes or exposed heart rather than spending ammunition on them.

The same guide lists the Moon Lord as having no element. It does not identify an elemental counter, so prioritize reliable damage, survivability, and the ability to hit small moving targets.

The current version-stamped guide recommends the Plasma Cannon for eye and heart damage. It also lists the Laser Gatling Gun and Advanced Bow for sustained damage, and the Energy Shotgun for firing from a flying mount. These are guide recommendations, not a controlled comparison proving one weapon is best for every player.
For armor and mobility, that guide suggests a Hexolite Helmet, Lightweight Hexolite Armor, Ultra Shield, and Triple Jump Boots. Vertical movement can help avoid area attacks. A separate PalMods Moon Lord guide likewise emphasizes high-tier armor, a strong shield, fast healing, and a precise weapon that can reach the head, hands, and exposed core; it suggests reserving explosive burst damage for predictable openings.

Prepare an arena that protects your base
- Use an expendable raid area rather than risking structures and equipment at a working base. The current guide warns that the Moon Lord’s area attacks can damage structures.
- Consider the Raid Area introduced in the Home Sweet Home update as an alternative to fighting beside a valuable base.
- Keep clear lines of fire to the head and both hands. Avoid positions where cliffs or the Palbox can pin you or obstruct shots.
- If your setup allows it, rotate or recover your team before the heart phase so you can apply burst damage when the final target opens.
Fight in target order
- Keep moving while you target the eyes. Track the head and hand targets, using a weapon you can aim accurately against moving parts.
- Reposition when sight lines close. Do not stay trapped against cliffs or the Palbox; return to an angle where the eyes are visible.
- Ignore the detached eyes as targets. They can keep attacking after an eye is destroyed, but the guide describes them as invulnerable.
- Save burst damage for the heart. Once all three eyes are destroyed and the chest opens, direct your strongest damage at the exposed heart.
