Find a mesh in Roblox Studio
-
Open Toolbox from the Window menu or the toolbar on the Home tab. Roblox’s Toolbox guide describes both entry points.
-
In Toolbox, select Creator Store, then choose a suitable asset category. The Creator Store includes development assets such as models and meshes; see Roblox’s Creator Store.
-
Enter a search phrase for the object and press Enter. Begin with the object name; if results are too broad, add useful descriptors such as style or intended setting.

Use the available filters to narrow the results. Depending on the search route, you can sort by relevance or rating, filter by creator verification or username, set price parameters, and specify asset types. Category and creator filters are also described in the Toolbox documentation.
-
Review a candidate’s listing before adding it. On a Toolbox thumbnail, hover and use the magnifying-glass control to inspect its description and community rating. Listings can also provide the distributor, asset type, creation and update dates, technical details such as triangle, vertex and script counts, and ratings or reviews.
-
Click a result or drag it into the 3D viewport. The asset appears in Explorer, and applicable 3D content appears in the viewport. On Creator Hub, a listing may have a Try in Roblox option when a demo is available.
You can also browse the Creator Store on Creator Hub in a web browser. For a typical Studio project, Toolbox is the direct route for finding and inserting an asset.
Choose the right Roblox catalog
The Creator Store is for development assets used to build experiences, including meshes and models. The Marketplace is for avatar items such as bodies, heads, clothing, accessories and animations. Roblox states in its Marketplace overview: “The Marketplace is not the same as the Creator Store.”
So, use Creator Store for an object in your game world and Marketplace for something worn or used by an avatar. Roblox also documents separate APIs: the Creator Store API queries Studio assets such as meshes, models and audio, while the Marketplace API queries avatar assets. Programmatic queries are an advanced option; most users can find assets through Studio or Creator Hub.
Check a mesh before using it
Compare results against what your project needs rather than choosing by thumbnail alone. Creator Store listings and filters can help you assess:

If an inserted asset contains scripts you do not want to run, Roblox documents disabling them from the object’s Explorer context menu. Follow the Toolbox guide for that workflow, and inspect an asset’s contents before using it in your experience.

A Roblox MeshPart is a BasePart descendant that represents a mesh made of vertices, edges and faces. You can browse user-uploaded assets in the Creator Store, or create a mesh in a third-party modeling application such as Blender or Maya and import it into Studio. Roblox explains the object and creation options in its Meshes documentation. You do not need a modeling app just to find an existing mesh.
