If Minecraft Bedrock shows “Missing Dependencies” for an add-on, first check that every pack it requires was imported, then enable the relevant behavior and resource packs in the affected world’s settings. Check version compatibility and pack errors next, and back up an existing world before changing its pack setup. The warning does not identify the missing item by itself, so there is no single fix that applies to every case.
What “Missing Dependencies” means
Minecraft’s warning says, “This pack is missing one or more dependencies.” It indicates that the game detects a required pack relationship it cannot validate, but the message alone does not tell you which pack or requirement is missing. The localized interface text confirms the wording, not the cause in your particular world.

Common checks include whether the download contains all companion packs, whether the right packs are enabled for the world, whether the add-on supports your Minecraft version, and whether another pack or an error in the add-on is interfering. These are possibilities to investigate, not proof of what caused a specific warning. Minecraft’s add-on installation guidance covers importing and activating packs.
Fix it safely, one check at a time
- Check the add-on’s requirements. Confirm that the download includes every required pack. An add-on may rely on both a behavior pack and a resource pack, or on a companion pack supplied separately by its creator.
- Confirm the import completed. Look for the packs in Minecraft’s storage or pack lists. A successful import does not necessarily mean the packs are enabled in an existing world.
- Enable the packs for the affected world. Open that world’s settings and activate the required behavior pack and resource pack, as applicable. Check that the world is using the intended pack set.
- Check compatibility. Compare the add-on’s stated requirements with the Minecraft version installed on your device. If the creator identifies supported versions, use that information rather than assuming an older pack will work with your current build.
- Look for pack errors or conflicts. If your platform and setup provide a content log, inspect it for missing dependencies, invalid JSON, or identifier errors. You can also temporarily disable other packs to see whether the warning changes.
- Back up the world before changing its configuration. Pack changes may not be cleanly reversible. Keep a copy of an existing world before removing, replacing, or reorganizing its packs.
If the warning remains, note the add-on name, your Minecraft version, platform, and the full error text. Share those details with the pack creator or official support. Do not edit manifest UUIDs based on the warning alone: the available information does not establish a universal repair procedure for changing pack metadata.

When the warning may be misleading
A Mojang issue-tracker report titled “Pack validation shows missing dependency” describes a case where the reporter saw the warning in Storage > Behavior Packs, even though applying the pack to a new world reportedly added the dependency. The report lists affected versions spanning older releases through 1.21.51 Hotfix and was updated on January 19, 2025.
That report shows that a validation warning can be misleading in at least one reported situation. It does not establish that every warning is a false positive or that the issue persists in current versions. If a pack works in one workflow but still shows the warning elsewhere, include that detail when contacting the creator or support.

Don’t confuse an add-on warning with a Launcher problem
If the message appears while loading a world or managing behavior packs, Launcher sign-in advice is not a presumed fix. The Minecraft Launcher troubleshooting guide addresses Launcher dependencies and account sign-in, including reinstalling the Launcher and checking that the same licensed Microsoft account is used in the Launcher, Microsoft Store, and Xbox app. Use those steps only when your symptoms concern the Launcher or licensing—not an in-world add-on warning.
