These are separate edits, and the live client’s eligibility and cost prompts are the best guide to what you can do now.
Choose the type of appearance change

Change wardrobe cosmetics
Open Appearance in the game and select the wardrobe or cosmetic option for the item you want to wear. Choose from options available to your character; some wardrobe choices may require that you own the item.

Dye an owned outfit
- Open Appearance.
- Select an outfit you own that displays a dye indicator.
- Choose Dye and review the available color and material requirements.
- Check the displayed total before confirming. Dye guides describe materials such as Softweave and Rosycloud Dye Powder, but requirements can change, so use the amount shown in your current client.
This workflow is described in the Where Winds Meet Handbook outfit-dye guide, updated September 30, 2026. Follow the live menu if its labels, eligible outfits, or material costs differ.
Change facial or other character features
For a deeper edit, inspect the character-customization options available from Appearance and read the editor’s eligibility and cost prompts before proceeding. A secondary character-creation guide warns that deep appearance changes may not be freely available after initial creation, but current prices, free allowances, and exact eligibility are not established by official material here. Treat the game’s current prompt—not an older guide—as authoritative.

Why older instructions may not match
Where Winds Meet’s customization interface receives updates. The developer’s Version 1.2 bug fixes and optimizations notes, published January 14, 2026, include customization improvements and an Appearance path for Martial Arts Effects. That is evidence the system changes, not a definitive current menu map. Exact PC, controller, and mobile inputs and any story-unlock prerequisites are not established by the available sources; follow the labels in your client.
