In Steam Deck’s Steam client, open View > Hidden Games to find games hidden from your library list. To restore one, right-click the game, choose Manage, then Remove from Hidden. Steam documents these steps for the Steam client; it does not provide a separate Gaming Mode button sequence for this task.
Find the hidden-games list and restore a game
- Open the Steam client on your Steam Deck and select View from the menu.
- Select Hidden Games to see the titles hidden from your regular library list.
- Right-click the game you want to restore, choose Manage, then select Remove from Hidden.
These are Steam Support’s documented Steam client directions; the support instructions do not specify a distinct sequence of controls for Gaming Mode. Steam Support: Games Are Missing from my Library.
If the game still does not appear
Check these in order before assuming the game was removed:
- Confirm the Deck is signed into the Steam account that owns or has access to the game. A title activated on another account will not appear in the current account’s library.
- Check the Library filter and set it to show all games.
- Open View > Hidden Games and remove the title from the hidden list if it is there.
- If it was recently purchased, check the Steam receipt and purchase history. An absent receipt may mean the purchase is still pending. If purchase history confirms completion but the game remains missing, sign out of the Steam client and back in.

Hidden games are not the same as private games
Hiding a game is an organizational choice for your own library: it keeps the title out of your regular game list. A private game remains visible to you, but Steam conceals ownership and related activity from other users. If you only want the title back in your own library, use Remove from Hidden; making it private serves a different purpose.
Steam says private games are omitted from your community-profile game list and recent activity, friends are not shown that you are playing them, and related activity-feed items are suppressed. This is not total anonymity: your Steam ID remains visible to others in the same matchmaking server, and a friend you invite can see your in-game status until you exit or disconnect.
