Is This Seat Taken? is a single-player logic puzzle about finding the right seat for people with competing preferences. Its no-timer approach and clear visual rules make it a low-pressure fit for puzzle fans, though a professional review found some levels easy and wished for more variety. It launched on August 7, 2025, for PC, Nintendo Switch, and Apple devices.

How the puzzles work

In Is This Seat Taken?, you arrange groups of people in seats while respecting their individual pet peeves and preferences. Steam describes it as a logic puzzle about matching people to seats; Nintendo’s US listing names settings including a cinema, bus, wedding reception, and taxi. The challenge comes from satisfying the constraints in each scenario, rather than racing a clock.

Nintendo’s description says there are no timers or leaderboards. That makes the presentation low-pressure, but it does not mean every puzzle is effortless: the rules and interactions can become more involved as scenarios progress.

Is it relaxing or challenging?

What the review praised

GamesRadar+’s review, published August 7, 2025, praised the game’s charming visuals and said seating constraints are communicated clearly. It also described placing people as responsive, and highlighted bus puzzles in which passengers leave and new ones board. Those changes can require you to revise an arrangement as its constraints shift.

Where it may fall short

GamesRadar+ also said some puzzles can feel easy and that the game could use more variety. Those are that outlet’s assessments, not a universal verdict; they are useful expectations if you want a demanding logic game or a steady stream of substantially different puzzle types.

Does it have a story?

Nintendo frames the story around Nat, an aspiring actor who spots a shape resembling themself on a screen and sets off to meet that figure. The journey gives the seating scenarios a narrative context, alongside the game’s everyday settings.
