Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is Naughty Dog’s next game, a new science-fiction franchise in development for PS5. The studio calls it “our wildest, most creative story yet,” but that is its own description of the story—not an independently established comparison. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is a new Naughty Dog franchise set thousands of years in the future. Its protagonist, Jordan A. Mun, is a bounty hunter stranded on Sempiria, a distant planet whose communication with the outside universe went dark hundreds of years ago.
Naughty Dog says Jordan hopes to become the first person in more than 600 years to leave the planet’s orbit. The studio announced the game on December 12, 2024, and said development began in 2020. What does Naughty Dog mean by “wildest game yet”?
In its December 2024 announcement, Naughty Dog Studio Head Neil Druckmann wrote: “This game is shaping up to be our wildest, most creative story yet.” The wording is a first-party assessment of the story as it is being developed. It is not a measurable or independently verified ranking of the finished game, and it should not be taken as a claim that every part of the game is objectively the studio’s wildest.

Druckmann also described the gameplay ambition separately: “This will be the deepest gameplay in Naughty Dog’s history, taking our learnings from our previous franchises and pushing them beyond anything we’ve ever done before.” That is likewise a studio claim. Naughty Dog has not yet provided a full public gameplay breakdown, so specific combat, exploration, or other systems remain unconfirmed.
What has been announced about the cast and music?
- Jordan A. Mun: Tati Gabrielle plays the bounty hunter protagonist.
- Score: Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross are composing the music. Naughty Dog said the announcement trailer offered only a small tease of their work.

Is Intergalactic coming to PS5?
Yes. The current official PlayStation UK listing identifies PS5 as the platform and gives the release date as “To be confirmed.” The official material cited here does not confirm another platform. It also does not announce a price, editions, or preorders. The UK listing’s platform and status are region-specific to that page and do not establish broader availability details.
When will Intergalactic be released, and when will it be shown again?
No release date has been announced. On September 28, 2026, Druckmann said Naughty Dog would be quiet about the game for the rest of that year, then fully reveal it in 2027: “In 2027, that changes. We’ll fully reveal Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet and give you a proper look at Jordan’s wild sci-fi adventure.” That is a planned reveal window, not a release window. The update is published on Naughty Dog’s official site.

The official sources cited here do not establish a launch date, price, edition lineup, detailed gameplay systems, full supporting cast, or release on platforms beyond PS5. The 2027 reveal plan does not confirm any of those details.
