Polar Patriots was a Premium Warbond for Helldivers 2 announced on May 2, 2024, for release on May 9, 2024. That launch date has passed; PlayStation’s announcement described a catalogue of weapons, armor, cosmetics and a booster, rather than a limited-time event. [PlayStation Blog, May 2, 2024]
What was in the Polar Patriots Warbond?
PlayStation announced three primary weapons, a grenade, a sidearm, a booster, three armor sets, three capes and three emotes. Its descriptions explain each item’s stated function, but do not provide comparative test results or current balance data.

Weapons and booster
| Item | What PlayStation announced |
|---|---|
| AR-61 Tenderizer | A high-caliber assault rifle with strong stopping power and a limited magazine. |
| SMG-72 Pummeler | An SMG that fires more slowly than other SMGs and uses concussive rounds to daze enemies. |
| PLAS-101 Purifier | A charge weapon: hold the trigger, then release to deal damage. The announcement gives no damage figures. |
| G-13 Incendiary Impact | An impact-detonating grenade that ignites the area with white phosphorus. |
| P-113 Verdict | A gas-operated, semi-automatic sidearm chambered for a large centerfire cartridge. |
| Motivational Shocks | A booster intended to help Helldivers recover after being slowed by attacks such as bug acid. PlayStation said it was less useful against area effects such as EMS strikes. |

When did Polar Patriots come out?
PlayStation published its announcement on May 2, 2024, and scheduled the Warbond for May 9, 2024. Dominic Wiggan, Senior Copywriter at SIE Creative Studio, wrote at the time: “Polar Patriots is rolling out to your Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel on May 9.” This is an announcement-era statement, not a notice of a current rollout. How do you unlock a Warbond?
The Polar Patriots announcement’s footnote says it requires the base game, paid purchase of Super Credits and game progression. PlayStation’s current Warbond guide explains the general system: use Super Credits to buy a Warbond, then earn Medals through missions to unlock items in its catalogue. Is Polar Patriots still available?
PlayStation currently describes Warbonds as catalogues that are not time-limited. That general policy does not, by itself, confirm the current in-game listing or availability of Polar Patriots specifically; check the Destroyer’s Acquisitions panel in-game for its present status. The 2024 announcement identified that panel as the release location. [PlayStation’s Helldivers 2 page and guide]
