How hints work in Strands
Strands is a theme-based word-search game. In the guides’ description, the spangram captures the theme and stretches between opposite sides of the grid. Finding non-theme words can earn an in-game hint; Try Hard Guides describes the mechanic as granting a hint for every three qualifying words of at least four letters.
Cybernews lists BELT, TRUE, TROP, NASTY, FILM, and SPORT as examples of non-theme words that can earn hints on this board.
