NYT Strands puzzle #96, dated June 7, 2024, has the theme “Sorority signs.” If you want to solve it yourself first, start with the hints below; the complete spangram and answer list appear after a spoiler warning.
Hints for Strands #96
- Theme: Sorority signs.
- Gentle nudge: Think of the Greek letters used as sorority names or symbols. The clue points toward the sequence α β γ.
- Words that can unlock in-game hints: READ, GREAT, BADGE, SPOIL, MEAL, and STEAL.
- Spangram direction: It begins at the top of the board in column two and ends at the bottom in column three.
How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search puzzle. Connect adjacent letters to form words; finding non-theme words advances the game’s built-in hint progress. The spangram names the theme, and once the puzzle is complete, each grid letter has been used once.
