What Connections is—and where to replay this puzzle

Connections gives players 16 words to sort into four groups of four. The New York Times Help Center says the groups are colored yellow, green, blue, and purple, from easiest to trickiest, and that words may seem to fit more than one category. As the Help Center puts it, “Each puzzle has exactly one solution and is meant to be tricky by having words that could fit into multiple categories.” Read the official Connections help page for the game’s rules and archive details.

The daily puzzle releases at midnight in the player’s timezone. The Help Center says the archive reaches back to June 12, 2023 and is available to All Access and Games subscribers. Puzzle #692 is within that date range, though replay access depends on the current archive rules and an eligible account.
