Where can you buy it, and what does Steam require?
EA lists the bundle on the EA app, Steam, and Epic Games Store. EA’s January 2025 announcement described a global rollout for Windows 10 and 11 beginning January 31, 2025.
For Steam purchases, Steam’s listing says you need both a Steam Account and an EA Account, and must link them to play. Steam also says access is limited to one EA Account and one Steam Account, is non-transferable after purchase, and that EA shares the Account ID and individual game and play records with Steam to validate a purchase or refund. These are Steam listing terms; EA’s separate listing refers to an EA Account and installation of the EA app, so check the requirements on the storefront you plan to use.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is this a remake?
No. EA describes the collections as a re-release of the original games. The Sims Team’s January 31, 2025 Steam release notes say the work aimed to make the games run more easily on Windows 10 and 11, support the monitor’s aspect ratio, improve scaling and visual fidelity, and fix several crashes. Those changes describe compatibility and display updates, not a full remake or graphics overhaul.
Should you buy the bundle or separate collections?
The combined bundle contains both Legacy Collections; buying the collections separately is an option if you only want one game. Compare the live prices in your region before checking out: storefront prices change, and the available price snapshots are not consistent enough to represent a current price.

At launch, EA listed suggested retail prices of $39.99 for the bundle, $19.99 for The Sims: Legacy Collection, and $29.99 for The Sims 2: Legacy Collection, according to its announcement. Later storefront snapshots differed: EA’s bundle listing displayed $35.97 with a sale indicator, while Steam showed $47.48 for the bundle against $49.98 for the products separately listed on that page. These are dated snapshots, not guaranteed current or regional prices; confirm the price on your chosen storefront.
