In Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, find Honedge in Hammerlocke Hills and raise it to level 35 to evolve it into Doublade. Use a Dusk Stone on Doublade to get Aegislash. You can also catch Doublade in the Wild Area, or encounter Aegislash directly at Giant’s Cap in fog.
Where to find Honedge in Pokémon Sword and Shield
Hammerlocke Hills is the listed wild location for Honedge in both games. Honedge is also available through Max Raid Battles at the locations below. The locations are from Serebii’s Generation VIII Pokédex data.
| Game | Wild location | Max Raid Battle locations |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Sword | Hammerlocke Hills | Dusty Bowl, Giant’s Seat, Stony Wilderness, Watchtower Ruins |
| Pokémon Shield | Hammerlocke Hills | Dusty Bowl, Giant’s Seat, Stony Wilderness, Watchtower Ruins |
For the location data, see Serebii’s Honedge entry.
How to evolve Honedge into Doublade and Aegislash
- Catch or otherwise obtain Honedge.
- Raise Honedge to level 35. It evolves into Doublade at that level.
- Use a Dusk Stone on Doublade to evolve it into Aegislash. The evolution trigger is the stone; no additional level threshold is specified.

Where to find Aegislash
Aegislash is a wandering encounter at Giant’s Cap during fog in both games. Serebii lists the encounter at level 56. If the weather is not foggy, the listed encounter condition is not met; evolving Doublade with a Dusk Stone is the alternative route.
