The headline refers to Palworld’s Sakurajima v0.3.1 update, announced on June 26, 2024. It added the Sakurajima island, many new Pals, the Moonflowers faction, and several major activities and progression changes. It is not the latest Palworld update: Pocketpair later released version 1.0 with a separate island, new Pals, and broader changes.
What Sakurajima v0.3.1 added
Pocketpair’s June 26, 2024 announcement described Sakurajima as a new island with many new Pals. It also announced new combat and exploration content, a higher level cap, and additional technology and resources.
- Sakurajima: A new island to explore, home to many new Pals.
- Moonflowers: A new faction guarding a tower.
- Arena: A multiplayer battle venue in the Desiccated Desert.
- Oil Rig: A stronghold controlled by the Rayne Syndicate.
- Progression and crafting: The player level cap increased to 55, and the update added new technologies and crude oil as a resource.
- Pal capture bonus: Its upper limit increased from 10 to 12.
How many new Pals did Sakurajima add?
Pocketpair’s announcement says Sakurajima is home to “many new Pals,” but it does not give a total. An exact count is therefore not established by that announcement.
Is Sakurajima the latest Palworld update?
No. Sakurajima was announced in 2024. Pocketpair’s Palworld announcement feed records later updates, and its version 1.0 changelog describes the game’s exit from Early Access and additional content. The changelog says version 1.0 added Sunreach, the World Tree, and 72 Pals, bringing the roster to 287, alongside broad changes to Pal strengthening, balance, base building, multiplayer, and graphics. These are 1.0 additions, not part of Sakurajima v0.3.1.
