What Rare announced for its 40th anniversary
Rare’s roots trace to Ultimate, which co-creators Tim and Chris Stamper formed in 1985. On August 4, 2025, the studio marked four decades with an anniversary program that included merchandise and activities tied to its games. Neowin reported that Rare Head of Brand and Licensing Adam Park described the unveiling of a heritage plaque at the site of Ultimate’s first home in Ashby-de-la-Zouch. Japan’s reported price for the anniversary pin
A Japanese report published March 5, 2026, said Fangamer Japan had begun selling four official Rare and Banjo-Kazooie products, including the anniversary pin and hoodie. It gave the pin’s price as 1,600 yen, tax included, at the time of publication. That is a dated price for a specific regional store, not a current or worldwide price. Read the Japanese report.
