Leek Duck’s event listing gives the date as Thursday, June 25, 2026, and the time as 6:00–7:00 p.m. local time. During the hour, Wingull appeared more frequently in the wild. See the event listing.

What was the Spotlight Hour bonus?
The bonus was 2× Stardust from catching Pokémon. It applied to catches generally, not just Wingull. The listing does not specify a separate evolution bonus.
Could Wingull be shiny?
Yes. The listing marked Wingull as shiny-capable. It did not give a shiny rate or state that the odds were increased for this event, so the marker should not be read as evidence of boosted odds.

How could weather affect Wingull encounters?
Niantic says weather can affect which Pokémon appear more often and can award extra Stardust when a caught Pokémon is weather-boosted. Its type table lists rain as boosting Water, Electric and Bug types, while wind boosts Flying, Dragon and Psychic types. Because Wingull is a Water- and Flying-type Pokémon, rain or wind could be relevant to its type boosts; that is an inference from the type table, not a Wingull-specific event guarantee. Was a Pokémon GO Plus + required?
No accessory was required to play. Pokémon GO Plus + is an optional convenience; its documented features include auto-spinning nearby PokéStops. Pokémon Support says its connection with Pokémon GO lasts one hour before automatic disconnection, matching the length of this Spotlight Hour.
