To improve your chances of an S rank in Ready or Not, complete the mission’s required objectives, search for any optional objectives and evidence, and use careful tactics that avoid killing suspects. There is no verified universal checklist or published current scoring threshold: mission tasks vary, and the exact scoring rules are not established by the available sources.
How mission grades and S rank work
The community-maintained mission reference describes mission grades as being calculated from total possible points and points received. That makes S rank a score outcome, not a reward for using one particular loadout. The reference does not establish the current point thresholds or every scoring edge case, so treat any exact formula presented elsewhere with caution.
What to do during an S-rank attempt
1. Read the briefing and finish required objectives
Check the mission briefing before deployment and keep its objectives in view as you clear the map. Objectives differ by mission, so a checklist from another level may not apply.
2. Look for soft objectives and evidence
Required objectives may not be the whole task. The community-maintained mission reference notes that some missions have hidden soft objectives, often involving evidence or locating an object. Search rooms methodically and secure relevant evidence, including dropped suspect weapons when present; the same reference identifies those weapons as evidence.

- True Tactical Gameplay: Ready or Not is a true tactical shooter. Every mission is a high-stakes, life-or-death operation. Strategically forge your squad of elite SWAT officers, equip them with the right weapons and gear for the mission, position your team to tactically breach criminal strongholds and quickly identify and neutralize threats in tense, life threatening scenarios.
- Your Mission is the Story: Ready or Not confronts you with a raw, unflinching mirror of real-world crime, exposing the horrors of human trafficking, drug running, illegal arms dealing, militant extremism, and terrorism through interwoven storylines that span multiple missions.
- Cross-Comradery: Team up with friends to stem the tide of crime infesting the city. Enhanced with crossplay, Ready or Not supports up to five players in a co-operative tactical experience on all platforms. Communicate effectively to increase your tactical precision, watch your squad’s back, and successfully complete your mission.
3. Avoid killing suspects
The mission reference says that killing a suspect caps the highest possible grade at A+. This is a community-maintained claim, not an official scoring specification, but it is a strong reason to avoid lethal force when pursuing S rank. Pro Game Guides’ guide, updated December 16, 2023, also recommends less-lethal tactics and careful reporting of suspects, civilians, bodies, and evidence: How to get S rank in Ready or Not.
4. Follow reporting prompts and check the result
Use the in-game prompts to report people and evidence as you encounter them, and review the post-mission grading screen. If you miss the target grade, use the result and the mission’s objective list to identify what to change on another attempt rather than assuming the same omission matters on every mission.

How to choose tactics without relying on a magic loadout
Less-lethal tools can help control suspects while reducing the risk of a fatal outcome, which is why secondary guides recommend them for S-rank attempts. Choose equipment that suits the mission and your team’s approach; the available sources do not verify a single best weapon or universal kit.
Do not assume that an incapacitated suspect automatically counts as arrested, or that every person must remain alive and conscious for an S. Player reports conflict on those details, and no current official scoring specification in the sources reviewed resolves them. Prioritize safe control, follow prompts, and confirm how the game grades the run.

Why the scoring rules need qualification
VOID Interactive’s official FAQ says the developer consulted police teams globally about rules of engagement and the scoring system. That explains some of the game’s design context, but it does not define the conditions for an S rank on a particular mission. The detailed S-rank guide cited above was updated in 2023, and the mission reference is community-maintained; neither should be mistaken for a current, official, patch-specific scoring table.
