Rainbow Six Siege players have reported being kicked with an inactivity message even while moving or typing. The reports establish that players are describing the problem, but they do not show how widespread it is, confirm an official bug, or identify a cause. Ubisoft has suggested troubleshooting steps for a similar kick in an earlier support case; none is a confirmed fix for the recent reports.
What players have reported—and what it does not prove
A September 2026 Reddit discussion includes a player who said they were kicked while typing, alongside a comment describing a teammate’s similar experience. These accounts document the symptom as players experienced it; they do not measure its frequency or amount to an official Ubisoft confirmation of a current bug. Read the discussion.
The message itself does not explain why a particular player was removed. Ubisoft’s historical anti-cheat article describes work to detect idle botters and review reports, but does not connect that work to the current complaints or establish that the reported players were treated as idle botters. Ubisoft’s August 7, 2026 Community Checkpoint discusses planned R6 Shieldguard security requirements and anti-cheat developments. It does not say that those measures cause inactivity kicks or resolve them. Read the Community Checkpoint.

What Ubisoft has recommended in a similar case
In a February 2025 Steam support thread, a player with error code 2-0x00019008 said they were kicked soon after spawning despite being active. Ubisoft support recommended checking for background-software conflicts with a clean boot, verifying game files, updating Windows, and testing network conditions. Later, after the player said solo modes worked but online matches did not, support advised checking the game’s network configuration. This case is useful as a troubleshooting reference, not proof that the recent reports share the same cause. Read the support thread.
One player in that thread later said a clean boot seemed to help, although an earlier attempt had not. Ubisoft support suggested reintroducing background applications to isolate a possible conflict. That individual outcome is not a guaranteed solution.

How to document and troubleshoot the kick
- Record the details. Note the exact message or error code, platform, game mode, date and time, and whether it happens in every online match or only certain modes. A short recording can document what happened, but cannot establish the technical cause.
- On PC, test a clean boot. Temporarily disable background applications using the Windows clean-boot procedure, then test the game. If behavior changes, reintroduce applications selectively to look for a conflict. Ubisoft described this as a way to disable background applications that might interfere with the game.
- Check the game and Windows installation. Verify the game files through the launcher you use and install available Windows updates. Ubisoft also recommended DISM/SFC system-file checks in the similar support case.
- Compare network conditions if the problem is online-only. Check the game’s network configuration, power-cycle the router, and, if available, compare with an alternate network. Change one variable at a time where practical so you can tell whether the behavior changes; a change does not by itself prove the cause.
- Contact Ubisoft Support if it continues. Use its connectivity and performance resources, server-status information, troubleshooting, or support contact options, and include the details you recorded. Visit Rainbow Six Siege Support.
What remains unknown
The available reports do not establish prevalence, a confirmed cause, or a Ubisoft fix for players being kicked with an inactivity message while active. Ubisoft’s similar-case steps are reasonable diagnostics, but the evidence does not show that any one step will resolve this specific complaint.
