#1 Best Overall
TouchArcade’s October 29, 2013 review adds that stages used pre-made arenas and three-star goals. Portals let players switch characters, whose weapons and play styles differed; enemies also varied. The review praised the character variety and amount of content, while finding the sliding movement controls frustrating.
What did it cost at launch?
GamesBeat reported a $3 price and microtransactions, and listed iOS, Android through Google Play, and Amazon Appstore as launch platforms. The report does not specify a currency, so the figure should be read as stated rather than assumed to identify a particular currency. These are historical 2013 launch details, not current prices or proof that the game can still be downloaded.

- Shrink-wrapped
TouchArcade described in-app purchases as largely optional extras, including power-ups and early unlocks. The review gave the game 3.5 stars.
Why was it “a scare” for reviewers?
The reaction was mixed in a small sample. Metacritic displays three critic reviews—one positive and two mixed—and no user reviews. Those three reviews are too few to represent a broad consensus among players.
- 148Apps called the game fun but frustrating.
- TouchArcade reviewer Chris Carter said it was fun when the controls cooperated and singled out the slide movement scheme as a major problem.
- Arcade Sushi criticized repetition.
That split captures the game’s appeal and limitation: a recognizable cast, character-specific combat, and a variety of content, weighed against control friction and repetitive play.
