SUPER DRAGON BALL HEROES: WORLD MISSION is a strategy-focused Dragon Ball card battler for Nintendo Switch and PC. It is most appealing if you like building decks, experimenting with character combinations, and learning a system with more going on than comparing attack numbers. One 2019 review praised that tactical depth while finding the presentation dated.
What kind of game is SUPER DRAGON BALL HEROES: WORLD MISSION?
It is a digital tactical card battler built around the Dragon Ball Heroes arcade card game. Bandai Namco describes a roster of more than 350 characters and more than 1,000 cards on its official game page. Those are the publisher’s stated content counts, not a measure of how many cards a player will use in a typical match.
The setting is Hero Town, an alternate reality where Dragon Ball Heroes is popular. You create an avatar and enter the card-game world after its characters begin threatening the town, teaming up with familiar Dragon Ball characters along the way. The story draws on Dragon Ball Super, Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and Dragon Ball GT, alongside new characters designed by Toyotarou, according to Bandai Namco’s launch announcement.
Beyond the story, the game includes arcade and creation modes, card collection and customization, and local and online play. It is a self-contained video game: physical Dragon Ball trading cards are not needed to build or use its in-game collection.

MeriStation’s 2019 verdict
Salva Fernàndez reviewed the PC and Switch versions for MeriStation on April 12, 2019, giving each 7.8/10. The review’s strongest praise was for strategic depth. Success depends on more than comparing damage, health, and guard values: card abilities, timing, and team combinations all matter. Presentation caveats
The same review criticized character models and animation it considered dated, music it found repetitive, and resolution loss and aliasing on Switch. These are observations from a review of the 2019 versions, not a new comparison across current hardware or later updates.

Is it worth playing?
It is a good fit if you enjoy deck construction, collectible rosters, and tactical systems that reward learning how abilities work together. Dragon Ball fans also get a wide cast and a story that brings characters from several parts of the franchise into one setting. The main reservation is that the battle system may take time to understand; if you want immediate, straightforward action, the learning curve may be a drawback rather than a draw.

The available review evidence is not a current cross-outlet consensus: MeriStation’s 7.8/10 is a named 2019 review, while Steam’s percentage is user-generated and changes over time. Treat both in their own context rather than as a definitive present-day verdict.

Both platforms are listed for the game, but regional availability, current prices, and online-service details can change. Nintendo’s cited US listing is digital; it does not establish present physical stock elsewhere. Bandai Namco announced a limited HERO Edition for the 2019 launch with five exclusive physical Dragon Ball Super playing cards and 11 digital early-unlock character cards. That historical package announcement does not mean those bonuses come with a current listing; check the exact edition and seller before buying.

Does it have a story mode?
Yes. The official descriptions from Steam and Nintendo describe a story set in Hero Town. You create a player avatar, enter the Dragon Ball Heroes game world, and join familiar characters as its events spill into the town. The game also offers modes beyond the story, including arcade and creation features.
