If Tomb Raider IV–VI Remastered crashes on your PS5, first check which included game you are playing and whether the crash matches a specific fix in Aspyr’s patch notes. Patch 1 addressed crashes in the PS4 version of Tomb Raider VI running on PS5; Patch 2 fixed a particular Tomb Raider V save-loading crash and several named Tomb Raider VI crashes. Those notes do not establish that every crash is fixed. If yours continues, update the game, follow PlayStation’s console troubleshooting steps, and report the reproducible issue to Aspyr.
Check whether your crash matches a published fix
The collection includes three games, and the documented crash fixes apply to particular games and circumstances—not to every crash in the collection. Aspyr’s notes establish these cases:
| Game and circumstance | What Aspyr’s notes say |
|---|---|
| Tomb Raider V: crash when loading a save from the Red Alert! level on PS4 or PS5 | Patch 2 says this issue was fixed. Aspyr Patch 2 notes, August 13, 2025. |
| Tomb Raider VI: crashes in specific scenes or actions | Patch 2 lists crashes after a cutscene in Galleries Under Siege; when exiting The Vault of Trophies; when Lara is killed by Cabal Commandos in Galleries Under Siege in HD mode; after changing outfits in Photo Mode during the Eckhardt’s Lab boss fight; and during some level transitions, including PRAGUE4 to PRAGUE4A and zones in The Sanitarium and Louvre Galleries. Aspyr Patch 2 notes, August 13, 2025. |
| Tomb Raider VI PS4 version running on PS5 | Patch 1 says crashes when playing the PS4 version on PS5 were resolved. This wording is specific to that version and platform combination. Aspyr Patch 1 notes, April 18, 2025. |
If your issue resembles one of these, install any available game update and check whether the same action still triggers the crash. Aspyr’s later September 19, 2025 hotfix notice concerns removal of unauthorized AI voiceover content and says it retained the previous update’s improvements; it does not list additional crash fixes. Aspyr Patch 2 hotfix notes.
What to try when the crash is not covered
For a continuing game-start problem, PlayStation recommends the following PS5 troubleshooting sequence. These are general console steps, not a guarantee of a Tomb Raider-specific fix. PlayStation Support: Troubleshoot issues when starting a game.
