Shrooms won Schedule I’s second community vote and became the focus of the game’s v0.4.2 Shrooms Update. The ballot asked players to choose among hireable drivers, fishing and shrooms; it is a completed vote, not an open poll.
What was Schedule I’s second community vote?
The official Schedule I Steam announcement invited players to choose what they wanted in the next major update, saying: “You can now vote on what you want to see in the next major update for Schedule I.” The three options identified in vote coverage were hireable drivers, fishing and shrooms. The vote is historical: its result was announced and the winning direction later appeared in an update.
The available official announcement record establishes the vote’s purpose, but does not expose complete descriptions of every ballot option. The comparisons below describe the broad type of gameplay each option suggested; they should not be read as confirmed promises about mechanics.
How did the three choices differ?
| Option | Gameplay direction it suggested | What that means at a high level |
|---|---|---|
| Hireable drivers | Delegating transport and logistics | Potentially less routine player-managed delivery work; the ballot framing does not confirm how drivers would operate. |
| Fishing | A distinct activity and economic loop | A different kind of gameplay from production, though the vote coverage does not establish its specific mechanics. |
| Shrooms | A new product type and production chain | Expanded cultivation and production content, as reflected in the update that followed. |
This is a comparison of the proposals’ apparent directions, not a ranking of their eventual quality or a claim that unselected features were implemented.

What won, and what followed?
Shrooms won community vote #2. The official Steam announcements index subsequently listed the v0.4.2 Shrooms Update, connecting the winning direction to a released update.
A secondary update-history compilation describes the update’s cultivation additions as including a mushroom bed, mushroom spawn station, substrate, spore syringe, grain bag and shroom spawn, along with temperature management for cultivation. This is a feature summary, not a complete or authoritative item list; consult the official v0.4.2 patch notes for exact patch details.

No. The official Steam announcements archive also lists a third community vote, showing that player voting continued beyond vote #2. A secondary update-history compilation says Special Customers won that later vote over hireable drivers and police improvements. That later result is attributed to the compilation, rather than presented here as a confirmed statement from the official result announcement.
