Where to find Skyspanner Kratch
Travel to Cuspid Climb in the Terminus Range and progress through The Lambent Mines during Shadow of the Mountain. Kratch appears at the end of the area. The Game8 boss guide and the Epic Games Store guide both place the encounter in the mines.

How to handle the fight
Kratch stays airborne and uses a vortex or sonic push attack while summoning enemies. Smaller Kratch, wyrms, and balloon-like hazards can add pressure while the boss is out of reach. The arena’s grapple points give you a way to reposition rather than staying exposed in one spot. These tactics reflect published walkthrough recommendations, not controlled testing.
Use fire damage on the boss
Guides recommend fire or incendiary damage against Kratch’s flesh health bars. Bring a suitable weapon if you have one, and keep landing damage when the boss is vulnerable rather than waiting passively for each wave to end.

Move and use grapple points
Keep moving to avoid attacks and use the arena’s grapple points to change position. Mobility also helps you break away from summoned enemies or reach a better angle on Kratch.
Control minions without losing boss damage
Prioritize summoned enemies when they threaten to overwhelm you, especially while Kratch is airborne or difficult to hit. When the immediate pressure is under control, return your attention to the boss. Treat this as a situational balance: guides differ on how much time to spend clearing each wave, so a fixed kill-everything-first rotation is not necessary.
Skyspanner Kratch drops
Game8 lists three named drops for the encounter:
- Hellfire: legendary submachine gun.
- Linebacker: legendary shotgun. Game8’s Linebacker item page also names Skyspanner Kratch as a source.
- Hoarder: shield.
These are in-game items. The reviewed guides do not establish a consistent drop probability, so there is no reliable percentage to use when estimating how many attempts a particular item will take.

Can you farm Skyspanner Kratch?
After completing Shadow of the Mountain, return to the arena and pay at Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine to repeat the encounter, according to the Game8 boss guide. That makes the fight repeatable for players pursuing its drops.
A Borderlands Support update dated February 2026 also listed Skyspanner Kratch as a Weekly Big Encore Boss (official update notes). That dated listing shows the boss has appeared in the weekly activity; it does not confirm the current rotation.
