Stella Montis opened in ARC Raiders after players completed the Breaking New Ground community event in one day, according to Embark Studios’ November 19, 2025 recap. The unlock is a past event result—not a current announcement about map rotation or access rules.
How did players unlock Stella Montis?
Embark announced Breaking New Ground on November 12, 2025, with the event set to begin November 13. Its goal was to restore tunnels leading to Stella Montis, the game’s fifth map. Players who had completed at least five rounds could donate five kinds of basic materials: Metal Parts, Fabric, Chemicals, Rubber Parts and Plastic Parts. Donations earned Merits, but the donation phase limited how many Merits each player could earn. Embark’s North Line announcement described the event and its requirements.
Embark’s November 19 event update reported that the community opened the route in one day. The ARC Raiders Team put it this way: “Last week, you didn’t just show up – you punched a hole in the tunnels so hard we broke clean through to Stella Montis – IN ONE DAY.”
What was Staking Our Claim?
After the tunnel unlock, the event moved to Phase II: Staking Our Claim. Instead of donating materials, players earned Merits based on XP gained on Topside maps. Merits advanced a reward track featuring weapons, gadgets, cosmetics and Raider tokens. Embark scheduled this phase to run through December 8, 2025; it was part of the 2025 event, not a presently available reward track.

What is Stella Montis like?
Stella Montis is an abandoned facility carved into the northern mountains. Embark described it as relatively well preserved compared with the wreckage of the lower Rust Belt. The North Line update introduced the map alongside new quests and gameplay items. Its Shredder enemy was associated with close-quarter encounters in Stella Montis. The same update also introduced the Matriarch, which Embark said could appear during a specific map condition. The North Line announcement provides Embark’s description of the location and update.

The community unlocked the route in November 2025. That establishes the result of Breaking New Ground, but it does not establish today’s map rotation, matchmaking availability or access rules.
