In a February 26, 2026 Steam anniversary post, creator ConcernedApe said that a new major content update, version 1.7, is in the works. He described its design aim as deepening areas of the game that feel lacking without “bloating” it with too many systems. That is a guiding goal, not a complete list of features.
Clint and Sandy will be marriage candidates
The only specific gameplay additions named in that post are new marriage options for Clint and Sandy. ConcernedApe wrote, “Oh, and you’ll be able to marry Clint and Sandy.” The announcement does not describe their relationship storylines, events, dialogue, or any other related mechanics. Which platforms will get the update, and when?

What is known about 1.7 and mods?
The Stardew Valley Wiki’s 1.7 migration guide for mod authors says the update changes many data assets to support new game features and mod extensibility. It says SMAPI and Content Patcher will automatically rewrite older mods for many of the changes, while warning that some mods may need updates and that details can change before release.
