Stardew Valley 1.6 arrived on Nintendo Switch on November 4, 2024. The old “as soon as possible” wording is no longer current: developer ConcernedApe later set a release date, and the Switch has since received follow-up updates.
When did Stardew Valley 1.6 come out on Switch?
ConcernedApe announced on September 22, 2024 that the console and mobile ports would launch on November 4, 2024, at version 1.6.9. The developer wrote: “The console and mobile ports of the 1.6 update will be released on November 4th, 2024.” Read the official release announcement.

That date was for the console and mobile release, not the original PC launch. PC version 1.6 began earlier, on March 19, 2024. The November date was an announced release date; it does not establish that the update appeared at the same local time in every region.
What happened after the Switch launch?
Switch received a later console patch in February 2025. ConcernedApe’s February 12 patch post initially said the Switch equivalent would follow. An edit to the official post confirmed that it was available on Switch on February 26, 2025. Among its fixes was a Switch-specific issue in which gifts could incorrectly be treated as loved gifts. What version of Stardew Valley is on Switch?
The Stardew Valley Wiki’s console version history lists Switch and Switch 2 version 1.6.15.13, released February 18, 2026, and identifies it as equivalent to PC 1.6.15. Check the console version history. This is a dated entry in a secondary-source history, not a live Nintendo eShop check; it does not establish the build currently shown in every region’s store.
Switch 2 is not required for the 1.6 update: the history entry lists the version for both Switch and Switch 2.

Version 1.6 is a substantial game update, not just a platform compatibility release. The official changelog includes new festivals and events, the Mastery system, and Meadowlands Farm, alongside many other additions and fixes.
