Stardew Valley update 1.6.3 lets you use Clint’s shop and geode service while he is upgrading a tool. Released March 27, 2024, the quality-of-life patch also adjusted quests, moss growth, achievements, and multiplayer cabins. The official notes establish the access change, but do not document how long players had been requesting it.
What changed for Clint’s shop?
Before 1.6.3, a tool upgrade could keep you from using Clint’s shop and geode service until the upgrade was finished. The patch removes that restriction: you can visit for those services during the upgrade period. The change is listed in the official 1.6.3 patch notes.

Festival, foraging, and requests
- A minecart shortcut was added to the year-one Spirit’s Eve festival.
- Harvesting moss grants 1 foraging experience point per moss. Adult mossy green rain trees also increase moss growth on nearby trees.
- The amounts of bug meat and bat wings requested by Raccoons increased.
Achievements and Qi quests
- The Infinite Power achievement was adjusted so it can be triggered on saves created before version 1.6.

How 1.6.3 fits into the larger 1.6 update
Version 1.6.3 is a maintenance and quality-of-life patch within the broader 1.6 update, not the update that introduced all of 1.6’s major features. The official 1.6 changelog covers additions such as a new farm type, festivals, mastery, new items, and multiplayer changes; those should not be attributed specifically to 1.6.3.
It also was not the final 1.6 patch: the developer published version 1.6.6 notes dated April 26, 2024. The available release information here does not establish the current version on every platform as of October 8, 2026, so it cannot support a platform-by-platform availability claim.
