There is no official, complete list of every anti-cheat game that works or fails on Steam Deck. Proton supports some Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) and BattlEye configurations, but developers must enable or configure support for each game. Check the game’s current Steam Store Deck compatibility details before deciding whether its online mode will work.
Why there is no reliable all-games anti-cheat list
Anti-cheat compatibility depends on how a specific game is built and configured, not just on the name of its anti-cheat provider. Valve’s compatibility criteria say that when a game runs through Proton, the game and its middleware—including anti-cheat—must be supported. Valve also documents support for some EAC and BattlEye configurations, while requiring game-specific developer setup. An EAC or BattlEye logo by itself therefore does not establish that a title works on Deck.
Valve does not publish a fixed, exhaustive anti-cheat roster or a precise count of games supported this way. Its Steam Deck compatibility criteria say review is ongoing, with new games and updates arriving continually. A list can only be accurate for the individually checked games and the date of checking.
How to check whether a specific anti-cheat game works
- Open the game’s Steam Store page and find its Steam Deck compatibility details. Valve’s Steam Deck Software Info & Troubleshooting Guide explains that per-game Store details are the place to check compatibility information.
- Read the Deck rating and any stated limitation. Verified means the game works well on Deck by default; Playable means it may require user adjustment; Unsupported means Valve currently does not consider it playable; Unknown means Valve has not tested it.
- Check whether the limitation affects the mode you care about. For online or multiplayer play, a general Deck rating should not be treated as a separate guarantee for every mode; review the Store page’s stated reason and the game’s current behavior.
- Recheck after significant game updates. Valve says the compatibility review is ongoing, and game updates can change the conditions reflected by a rating.
What EAC and BattlEye support means
Easy Anti-Cheat
Proton can support some EAC configurations, but Valve’s Steamworks documentation makes clear that EAC support must be enabled for the game’s build. The developer’s configuration decision is essential; seeing that a game uses EAC is not enough to infer Deck compatibility.

BattlEye
Proton can support some BattlEye configurations, but each BattlEye title requires a manual configuration step by its developer. That means support for one BattlEye game does not imply support for another.
Valve describes the developer-side requirements in its Steam Deck and Proton documentation. That documentation explains technical capability, not a current list of games whose publishers have enabled it.

Historical game examples are not current status checks
Valve’s anti-cheat announcement named Elden Ring and Apex Legends as examples of games taking advantage of the support work described at the time. The announcement is historical, so it does not establish either game’s current Deck rating or current online-mode behavior. Check each title’s current Store compatibility details before relying on it as a present-day example.

A useful list should identify the games actually checked, record each title’s current Deck label, and include the date and source of the status. For games with limitations, it should note the Store page’s stated reason and distinguish the rating from confirmation that a particular online mode works. It should not claim to be complete unless every relevant title has been checked, and it should be refreshed as game builds and compatibility ratings change.

Unofficial operating-system or other workaround claims are not equivalent to official Proton support or a Steam Store compatibility rating. They need separate, current evidence and a clear explanation; they should not be presented as a supported-games list by default.

- Players can play a huge variety of games at any time with the comfort of a console and the freedom of a PC. Not anti-glare screen.
- Like the name suggests, the Steam Deck will include upgraded 1TB storage, and will include a carrying case. A micro SD slot will also enable expanded storage.
- Valve partnered with AMD to create a specialized APU optimized for handheld gaming, and Valve says the chip will deliver performance to run AAA gaming titles.
- The Steam Deck is outfitted with a 7-inch touchscreen, and two trackpads under the control sticks that allow gamers to operate games never designed outside of mouse and keyboard capabilities.
