Franchise director Tymon Smektała asked what content, updates, and fixes players wanted immediately or over the next three to six months. Official update records show the game continued receiving updates afterward, but do not establish that particular features were chosen in response to that request.
What did Techland ask Dying Light 2 players?
In a social post dated November 8, 2025, Dying Light franchise director Tymon Smektała asked players to identify the most important work for the game. Insider Gaming reported the post the following day and quoted him asking: “What are the most important things we should handle? What kind of content/updates/fixes you’d expect right now or in 3-6 months?” Insider Gaming’s November 9, 2025 report attributes the question to Smektała and describes it as a request for near-term priorities.

The report said Techland could move more staff onto Dying Light 2 support after Dying Light: The Beast launched. That staffing account comes from the report; the official materials cited below confirm continued support and updates, but do not independently verify a staffing change.
Is Dying Light 2 still getting updates?
Yes. Techland’s official Dying Light 2 page, retrieved October 8, 2026, says the game is actively supported and is planned to receive updates at least until early 2027. The company describes that support as including new content, seasonal events, major updates, hotfixes, and additional in-game store packs. This is Techland’s stated support horizon, not a guarantee that a particular feature or release date has been announced.

What updates have arrived since the community request?
Techland’s official update archive documents later releases, including these two updates:

Techland also says players can browse and download community-created content through the game’s Community Maps tab. The archive establishes what these updates included; it does not say that The Breach, faster progression, or any other listed feature resulted from Smektała’s November 2025 question.

What is coming next for Dying Light 2?
The official support statement extends at least until early 2027 and names broad categories of planned support, but the cited sources do not provide a definitive forward roadmap tied to the community request. They also do not identify which player suggestions were adopted. The clearest answer is that support is continuing, while specific upcoming content and its connection to the feedback remain unconfirmed in these sources.
A separate Techland anniversary announcement dated February 12, 2026 described a three-week Infected Outbreak event with rising infected activity and rewards that included a Kyle Crane skin from The Beast, alongside The Black Hand paid bundle. That announcement documents a dated event, not a current schedule or a promise of another run.

Techland says physical editions of Dying Light 2: Stay Human are available on selected PlayStation, Xbox, and PC platforms. Availability depends on platform and region, so check the current listing before buying. The game page’s mention of downloadable community maps does not establish a separate purchase requirement for that feature.
