Super Mario Party Jamboree launched for Nintendo Switch on October 17, 2024. Nintendo lists more than 110 minigames, with play options ranging from single-player to online matches of up to 20 players in specific modes.
When did Super Mario Party Jamboree come out?
Nintendo’s U.S. store lists October 17, 2024 as the release date for Super Mario Party Jamboree on Nintendo Switch. It is an already-released game, not an upcoming October launch. Nintendo’s official product listing describes more than 110 minigames, online and offline play, and customization options.
How many players can play?
Nintendo’s listing gives overall support for 1–4 players on one system and 1–20 players online, but the online maximum depends on the mode. Nintendo Support lists these mode-specific limits:
| Mode | Local play | Online play |
|---|---|---|
| Mario Party | 1–4 players | 1–4 players |
| Bowser Kaboom Squad | One local player per system | Up to 8 players |
| Koopathlon | One local player per system | Up to 20 players |
Some online modes must be cleared in single-player before they become available. The game also includes Party-Planner Trek, a single-player mode that takes players across five boards to complete tasks and collect Mini Stars. Nintendo describes online play with both friends and random players. See Nintendo Support’s multiplayer setup instructions for starting a multiplayer game.
#1 Best Overall
- Get ready for the biggest party yet in Super Mario Party Jamboree for Nintendo Switch. From running through merry-go-rounds to motion-control minigolf, this jamboree is jam-packed with over 110 minigames – the most of any Mario Party game to date!
- With seven boards in all, you can go with the flow in Goomba Lagoon, search for stars in Rainbow Galleria, revisit the classics of Western Land and Mario’s Rainbow Castle from past titles and more.
- Race across the party board in Koopathlon, a series-first 20-player online competition to see who can rack up the highest scores in minigames like the fast-paced Lane Change. The higher your score in each round, the faster you’ll get to the goal. Koopathlon is just one of a slew of additional modes – there’s something for every kind of Mario Party player to enjoy!
What do you need to play online or use motion controls?
- Online play: Nintendo requires a Nintendo Account, internet access, and a Nintendo Switch Online membership. The membership is sold separately, auto-renews after its initial term at the then-current price, and is not available in every country. Check Nintendo’s current terms and regional availability before subscribing.
- Motion-control minigames: Joy-Con controllers are required. These minigames are not compatible with Bowser Kaboom Squad or Koopathlon, and they do not work on Nintendo Switch Lite.
- Other multiplayer accessories: Nintendo notes that additional accessories may be required, depending on how you play.
The game supports TV, tabletop, and handheld play, but those broad system modes do not mean every minigame works with every controller or console configuration.
How is the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition different?
The later Super Mario Party Jamboree – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Jamboree TV is a separate Switch 2 offering, not the original Switch release. Nintendo Support lists the Upgrade Pack at $19.99 USD in the Nintendo eShop on Switch 2 and the Nintendo Store; this is the listed price at the time of Nintendo’s support information and may change. Details are in Nintendo Support’s DLC and upgrade information.

Nintendo also describes higher resolution in TV and handheld modes. Nintendo’s Jamboree TV overview explains the added features.
