Available third-party tier lists place Prince Spades, Wisdom Bird, Medusa, and Lettucera among the strongest Mythic heroes, and Dark Knight, Swift Ali, Rogue Jack, and Goddess Bella among notable Legendary picks. Treat these as guide examples, not a verified current ranking: the accessible BlueStacks guide does not establish its update date or the game version it reflects, and an official Google Play listing reports a game update on August 27, 2026. The game’s own description also stresses team formations, skill interactions, and relics, so rarity alone cannot tell you which hero is best for your roster.
What the available tier lists say
The named placements below come from third-party guides, not an official developer ranking. They are useful as starting points for research and roster planning, but the sources do not establish that these heroes remain top choices after the latest game update.
| Rarity | Heroes named | What the source establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Mythic | Prince Spades, Wisdom Bird, Medusa, Lettucera | BlueStacks’ French-language guide places these heroes in S tier. Its update date and version basis are not established. BlueStacks tier guide |
| Mythic | Prince Spades, Wisdom Bird, Prince Charm, Medusa, Lettucera | These are Mythic examples in a tier list attributed to BlueStacks and reproduced by TechTimes in an article published August 22, 2023; this is historical, not current-meta verification. TechTimes, August 22, 2023 |
| Legendary | Dark Knight, Swift Ali, Rogue Jack, Goddess Bella | BlueStacks’ French-language guide places these heroes in A tier; the guide’s date and version basis are not established. TechTimes also names these four as Legendary examples in its 2023 article. BlueStacks tier guide; TechTimes, August 22, 2023 |
| 4-star | Black Swan, Wishing Goldfish, Blue Barbara | TechTimes names these as 4-star examples in the tier list it attributed to BlueStacks, published August 22, 2023. The source does not validate them as current recommendations. TechTimes, August 22, 2023 |
These placements should not be read as a complete tier list: the cited material identifies examples, and the available evidence does not establish a full current ranking, detailed hero-by-hero performance, or a universal scoring method.
How to prioritize heroes for your roster
Use a tier label as a prompt to investigate a hero, not as an automatic investment decision. The official Google Play description presents Tales & Dragons: New Journey as a free fantasy idle RPG centered on collecting heroes, auto-play progression, team formations, skill interactions, and relics. It says the game features over a hundred fairy-tale heroes; that number is store copy, not an independently measured count. Official Google Play listing

- 5 CLASSIC FAIRY TALES, TOLD BY DUNCAN: Press the button and Duncan's glittery eyes come to life as he sways, "reads" from his storybook, narrating Hansel & Gretel, Jack and the Beanstalk, Rapunzel, The Ugly Duckling, and Sleeping Beauty.
- INTERACTIVE STORYTIME: Foot buttons let kids play, pause, or skip stories — encourages independent play and screen-free bedtime routines.
- SOFT & HUGGABLE: 11" plush dragon made from soft polyester, perfect size for cuddling, sitting on a shelf, or bedtime companion. Duncan's shiney iridescent blue/green details , glittery eyes and shiny velvetine storybook add another layer of enchantment to his design!
- BATTERIES INCLUDED: Includes 3 AA batteries, ready to tell stories right out of his gift box.
- A GIFT THEY'LL ACTUALLY USE: Great for birthdays, holidays, or "just because" — a huggable keepsake toy that adapts to your child's needs as they grow listening, verbal and imagination skills during playtime.
- Role and damage: Consider whether a hero supplies reliable damage, area coverage, or pressure against a single target. The cited tier sources do not provide verified performance data for these roles.
- Staying power: Assess frontline durability and whether the hero can help the rest of the team survive.
- Team utility: Healing, shielding, control, buffs, and debuffs may contribute more than damage alone in a formation that needs them.
- Formation fit: Ask which role your current team lacks and whether the candidate’s abilities complement your other heroes. This follows the game’s official emphasis on formations and skill interactions; it is a practical evaluation framework, not an official scoring formula.
- Content fit: Compare performance in the mode you care about—such as campaign, boss encounters, or competitive play—only when you can verify the hero’s results there. The available sources do not establish rankings across these modes.
- Investment level: Compare a hero at your actual upgrade level with the alternatives you can field now. A tier label by itself does not show how much investment a hero needs or how it performs before upgrades.
Are lower-rarity heroes still worth using?
The evidence does not establish that every 4-star or Legendary hero is useful in every situation, or that a lower-rarity character will outperform a Mythic hero. It does show why a simple rarity-only ranking is incomplete: the official game description emphasizes strategic formations, abilities, and relics, while the third-party guides separate characters by rarity as well as tier. For your roster, compare the hero’s role and team contribution at your current investment rather than discarding a unit solely because of its rarity.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How current is this tier list?
The most recent dated game-update information in the available official listing is August 27, 2026. The BlueStacks guide’s publication or update date and the game version it ranks are not established, while TechTimes’ examples date to August 22, 2023. That gap means neither source can confirm the current balance. The game is available as a mobile app; its official listing also notes in-app purchases, but that fact does not determine a hero’s effectiveness.

Before spending scarce upgrade resources, check whether a newer guide identifies its game version and date, and compare its recommendations with the abilities and results you see in your own game. Store ratings, download counts, version history, hero availability, and balance can change; they do not substitute for a dated, version-specific character ranking.
