How Hurdle works
Arkadium’s support documentation, modified October 1, 2026, describes four regular five-letter puzzles followed by a fifth final puzzle. In each regular round, you have six guesses. Green tiles mark a correct letter in the correct position; yellow means the letter is in the answer but elsewhere; gray means the letter is absent.
The final board carries over the answers from the first four rounds and allows two additional guesses under the currently documented rules. Arkadium puts it this way: “The 5th and final Hurdle puzzle will be prefilled with the answers from the previous 4 Hurdles.” The support page describes current mechanics, so it does not confirm that every rule was the same on August 17, 2025.

Ways to approach the puzzles
- Start with a five-letter guess that tests distinct letters, including common vowels and consonants.
- Use green and yellow tiles to narrow down both letter placement and possible answers; account for duplicate letters when needed.
- On the final board, combine the information in all four carried-over answers before using either guess.
Arkadium also documents Clue, Remove, and Reveal assistance that uses Gems. Its support page says the Hurdle dictionary contains 15,000 permissible five-letter words. Its scoring documentation lists maximum scores of 10,800 in normal mode and 16,200 in hard mode.
