Before Minecraft Live on September 28, 2024, a brief exposure on the official Minecraft Live website reportedly revealed the Pale Garden biome and its hostile mob, the Creaking. Mojang described both features days later. They are part of a 2024 reveal, not the next update in October 2026: Mojang’s later preview notes instead describe Ice Caves and the Frostbite for a forthcoming game drop.
What was accidentally revealed before Minecraft Live 2024?
Beebom reported on September 28, 2024, that a Mojang web designer inadvertently updated the Minecraft Live website before the livestream, briefly exposing details that were later taken down. The temporary page text named the Pale Garden and “its hostile mob—the creaking,” alongside information about Bundles of Bravery, Hardcore mode, A Minecraft Movie, and Minecraft Experience: Villager Rescue. Beebom also reported that the feature drop was called Bundles of Bravery. The accidental-publication account comes from Beebom’s contemporaneous report; Mojang’s later feature article confirms the Pale Garden and Creaking, but does not independently establish that they were leaked by mistake. Beebom’s September 28, 2024 report
What are the Pale Garden and the Creaking?
Mojang’s October 2, 2024 feature article describes the Pale Garden as a new Overworld biome with pale oak trees and hanging pale moss. Animal mobs do not spawn there naturally, according to Mojang. The biome also introduced a Pale Oak wood set, pale moss, and hanging pale moss; Mojang noted that hanging pale moss can be mined with shears or a Silk Touch tool. How the Creaking works
The Creaking resembles a tree and stays still while a player looks directly at it. It moves when the player looks away. Attacking the creature directly will not defeat it: the player must find and destroy its connected Creaking Heart. Mojang’s Bedrock Preview 1.21.50.20 notes specify that a heart generated in a Pale Oak tree can spawn a Creaking at night in the Pale Garden, and destroying that connected heart removes the mob. Is the Pale Garden still coming in the next update?
No. The phrase “coming in next update” describes the 2024 story, not current news. By October 8, 2026, Mojang’s September 30, 2026 Beta & Preview 26.60.29 notes described a different upcoming game drop, including Ice Caves and the Frostbite. The notes say Ice Caves generate beneath colder Overworld biomes and can spawn Frostbites, a zombie variant that throws ice balls and can apply the Freezing effect in melee. Mojang labels these as work-in-progress preview features and warns that preview versions may be unstable or may not represent final quality. Mojang’s Beta & Preview 26.60.29 notes

How to interpret the old leak now
- The accidental website exposure is reported by Beebom; Mojang’s official article verifies the named biome and mob, not the leak mechanism.
- The Creaking’s defining mechanic is that it moves when unobserved, while its connected Creaking Heart is the way to remove it.
- The Pale Garden and Creaking belong to the 2024 reveal and testing cycle. They should not be described as the next update’s unreleased features in 2026.
- Ice Caves and Frostbite are preview content, not a guarantee of final-release behavior. Mojang’s notes identify the build and warn that preview versions can be unstable.
