How Strands hints work
Strands is a themed word-search game: trace connected letters through the grid to form theme words. The rules descriptions say that finding three non-theme words earns a hint that highlights letters in a theme word. The spangram describes or names the theme and reaches two opposite sides of the grid; the dated guide says it is highlighted yellow after discovery, while found theme words appear light blue.
