Chiori is primarily an off-field Geo damage dealer: cast her Elemental Skill to summon Tamoto, then swap to your on-field character while the doll attacks. For a general off-field build, start with four-piece Golden Troupe, a DEF% sands, a Geo DMG goblet (or DEF% if it suits your weapon and substats), and a CRIT circlet. Her Skill and character level are the main priorities. C6 is the major exception: it supports an on-field style that makes Normal Attacks and a different artifact choice more relevant.
How Chiori’s kit works
Chiori’s main pre-C6 contribution comes from her Elemental Skill and the Tamoto automaton doll it summons. Her Skill damage scales with both ATK and DEF, with DEF usually the more useful stat to build. In a typical rotation, cast the Skill and use its follow-up swap behavior to move to your next party member; party order matters if you want that automatic swap to land on a particular character.
Her Elemental Burst deals damage and can be used when available, but it is often not a rotation priority in a standard C0 off-field setup. Its value can rise with constellations or a team plan that makes the additional summon useful. Before C6, her Normal Attacks generally do not justify extended field time.
What changes at C6
C6 adds value to Normal Attacks and reduces her Skill cooldown, shifting Chiori toward an on-field playstyle. Do not treat a C6 build as interchangeable with the usual off-field setup: the talent priorities and artifact-set preference can change.

Artifacts and stats
| Slot or priority | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Artifact set | Four-piece Golden Troupe for off-field Skill damage |
| Alternative set | Four-piece Husk of Opulent Dreams is close; it can suit more frequent Burst use and is described by Icy Veins as the better set for C6 on-field play |
| Sands | DEF% |
| Goblet | Geo DMG Bonus; DEF% is a reasonable alternative depending on set, weapon, and substats |
| Circlet | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG, chosen to balance your overall CRIT stats |
| Substats | CRIT and DEF% first, then ATK%; ER is usually lower priority when Burst is used infrequently |
Well-rolled two-piece combinations are a practical option if their substats beat your four-piece choices. There is no single stat target that applies across every weapon, constellation, and team. As one specific example, Icy Veins’ September 18, 2026 guide gives sample ranges of 17,000–20,000 HP, 1,000–1,300 ATK, 1,500–1,900 DEF, 100% ER, 90–100% CRIT Rate, and 210–240% CRIT DMG for a Harbinger of Dawn and Golden Troupe build in a Lunar-Crystallize team; these are that guide’s targets for those assumptions, not requirements.
Talents and character level
- Raise Chiori’s character level because it increases her Base DEF; level 90 is useful for that reason.
- Prioritize her Elemental Skill for the standard off-field role.
- Keep Burst investment secondary if it has no defined place in your rotation. At C2 and above, its added doll can make Burst use more valuable.
- Raise Normal Attack talent priority for the C6 on-field approach rather than the usual pre-C6 setup.
Best weapons and practical alternatives
Uraku Misugiri is Chiori’s signature sword and a leading option for her personal damage in the cited guides. Icy Veins’ September 18, 2026 weapon calculations list R1 Uraku Misugiri at 124% relative to R5 Harbinger of Dawn at 100% in that page’s comparison. These are guide calculations, not official ratings or a guarantee of the same result on every account.
- Uraku Misugiri: A strong personal-damage choice if you own it or are weighing the weapon banner. Consider your full team and account before pulling solely on the basis of a ranking.
- Harbinger of Dawn: An accessible option when Chiori can stay above 90% HP, which keeps its CRIT Rate passive active. Furina teams, corrosion, and limited teamwide healing can make that condition harder to maintain.
- Wolf-Fang: A Battle Pass option identified by KeqingMains for situations where Harbinger of Dawn’s HP condition is unreliable. It is paid, not a free substitute.
- Cinnabar Spindle: Icy Veins lists this event-exclusive sword as no longer obtainable.
When comparing weapons, account for what you already own, refinement, passive uptime in your actual team, and whether you value Chiori’s personal damage or another kind of team contribution. Healing, shields, Furina, and enemy effects can all change how reliably a conditional passive works. Genshin Impact Helper Team’s version 6.7 / Luna VIII build page marks some weapon calculations as works in progress, so treat those comparisons accordingly.
Teams: when Chiori needs a Geo Construct
At C0, Chiori’s second Tamoto doll depends on having a Geo Construct available. A Geo Construct teammate can therefore enable both the extra doll and the related passive benefit. Examples cited by the guides include Zhongli, Albedo, Itto, Ningguang, and Geo Traveler. Chiori can support an on-field damage dealer; listed Geo DPS options include Itto, Ningguang, Navia, and Noelle.

C1 changes the condition: Chiori can gain the second doll with another Geo teammate even without the usual Construct requirement. This matters most for teams that otherwise cannot meet the condition. If your team already has a suitable Construct or enabling interaction, C1’s marginal value can be different. Exact team value depends on your roster and the game version.

- Decide Chiori’s field-time role. For a standard pre-C6 off-field build, focus on Skill damage and swap out after casting. If she is C6 and you want her on field, give greater attention to Normal Attacks and consider Husk of Opulent Dreams.
- Check the doll condition. At C0, plan around a Geo Construct teammate if you want the second Tamoto. At C1, another Geo teammate can satisfy the condition without that Construct.
- Match weapon choice to real uptime. Use Harbinger of Dawn when its above-90%-HP condition is realistic for your team; otherwise weigh an owned alternative such as Uraku Misugiri or Wolf-Fang.
- Set Burst priority by its purpose. If it does not contribute meaningfully to your rotation, prioritize Skill and character level over ER or Burst investment. Revisit this at C2+ or when a team plan makes Burst use more valuable.
- Compare your actual artifacts. Golden Troupe is a strong default for off-field Skill damage, but strong substats on mixed pieces can outperform a poorly rolled set bonus.
How current are the build recommendations?
Icy Veins labels its Chiori build and team guides as updated September 18, 2026 for version 7.1. Genshin Impact Helper Team labels its build version 6.7 / Luna VIII. KeqingMains’ quick guide is labeled version 4.5: its kit explanation and general build logic remain useful, but its older numerical comparisons should be treated cautiously. HoYoWiki and HoYoverse provide official character references, but the guide recommendations and calculations above come from guide publishers, not official balance advice.
