You usually do not need to convert a Visa gift card into another balance to get Robux. Try it as a prepaid card at Roblox’s checkout in a web browser. Roblox lists prepaid credit cards as a browser payment method, but whether a particular Visa gift card works depends on whether its issuer authorizes the purchase. If it is declined, you can use an authorized Roblox gift card instead.
Try your Visa gift card at Roblox checkout
- Open Roblox in a web browser and sign in to the account that should receive the Robux.
- Open the Robux purchase flow and select the prepaid-card payment option. Roblox lists prepaid credit cards among the payment methods for its browser app: Which payment methods can I use?
- Enter the Visa gift card details and submit the purchase. If the card is approved, the Robux purchase completes through Roblox; there is no separate Visa-to-Robux conversion step.
Roblox’s payment-method guidance does not guarantee that every prepaid Visa card will be accepted. If the transaction is declined, check the card issuer’s instructions and contact the issuer if needed. Online-use restrictions, billing details, available balance, or authorization rules may affect whether a transaction goes through; the requirements depend on the card issuer.
If the Visa card is declined, use a Roblox gift card
A Roblox gift card is a separate fallback, not a way to transfer or convert a Visa balance. Buy one through Roblox or a retailer listed by Roblox, and avoid unauthorized sellers. Roblox says cards from unauthorized sellers or resellers are not valid. Redeem the Roblox gift card in a browser
- In a web browser, sign in to the Roblox account that should receive the value.
- Go to Roblox.com/redeem, enter the gift card code, and redeem it.
- If redemption adds Roblox Credit, use the browser purchase or redemption page and choose Get Robux. The Credit must cover the purchase.
Roblox says, “You must use a web browser to redeem your cards.” Its standard redemption flow is not supported in Roblox mobile apps or consoles; Samsung Galaxy users have an in-app redemption option. For details, see How to redeem and spend your Gift Card.

Use Roblox Credit for Robux in a browser
Roblox Credit can be spent on Robux through a browser if the balance is sufficient. It cannot be spent inside Roblox apps, and Roblox says a payment cannot be split between Credit and another payment method. See Managing and spending your Roblox Credit.
Why Gifting Robux is not a prepaid-card workaround
Roblox says its Gifting Robux checkout does not accept prepaid cards, so it does not provide another route for using a declined Visa gift card.
