If your character has unlocked it, you can instead use the portal between Boralus and the Wizard’s Sanctum in Stormwind.
Take the ship from Stormwind Harbor
- Travel to Stormwind Harbor.
- Find the ship named The Relentless, which is the Stormwind connection to Boralus.
- Board it to travel to Boralus Harbor.
The route listing identifies The Relentless as the ship for this connection: Boralus route listing.
Use the portal if your character has unlocked it
A portal connects Boralus with the Wizard’s Sanctum in Stormwind City. The route listing says the portal becomes available after completing Sanctum of the Sages; Blizzard also confirms that Boralus has a Stormwind portal, without specifying the unlock condition. See the route listing and Blizzard’s Boralus visitor guide.
If you cannot find or use the portal, take The Relentless or check whether your character has completed the portal’s unlock quest.

If the boat or portal sends you back to Stormwind
Check your character’s quest log for the Battle for Azeroth introduction. Player reports and a recent guide indicate that introductory quest progress can be relevant when travel to Kul Tiras loops back to Stormwind, but this is not an official, universal fix. If you are redirected, look for the introduction at Stormwind Keep or Stormwind Harbor and follow the quests available to your character. Reports and guidance on the redirect.
Return from Boralus to Stormwind
Blizzard lists a ship connection to Stormwind among Boralus’s facilities. Check the harbor in-game for the Stormwind-bound ship; a current dock location or schedule is not established in the available route information. Blizzard’s Boralus visitor guide.
