Use the game’s built-in Report Player option and choose the reason that best matches what you actually saw. The menu path varies by Call of Duty title: the steps below cover Warzone, one Modern Warfare guide, and Call of Duty: Mobile. If you play another title, look for its title-specific reporting guide in Activision Support.
Report a player in Call of Duty: Warzone
Activision’s Warzone reporting guide, updated July 10, 2025, documents three ways to open the report form: from an active match, the lobby, or Social. Button labels can differ by platform.

In the form, choose the reason or reasons that best fit what happened. Select Send Report to report them, or Report & Block Player if you also want to block them. See Activision’s Warzone reporting instructions.

These instructions apply to the specific titles described by Activision’s guides; they are not universal controls for every Call of Duty game.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare
Activision’s guide for this Modern Warfare title says to open Social (Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, or the Social tab on PC), choose Recent Players, highlight the player, open their actions, select Report Player, and choose an available reason. If the player is on your Friends list, the guide says to remove them before reporting through this route. Read the Modern Warfare reporting guide for its title-specific instructions.
Call of Duty: Mobile
Activision’s instructions, published October 16, 2025, use the profile picture and History tab. Choose the relevant recent Multiplayer match, or switch to Battle Royale history; tap the exclamation-point report control, select the player and report type, optionally add details in the text box, then submit. You can also start a report from the Winner’s Circle immediately after a match. See Activision’s Call of Duty: Mobile reporting instructions.

What happens after you submit a report?
Activision says reports are reviewed and may contribute to enforcement, such as a warning, suspension, or ban when warranted. A report is not a guaranteed ban or a promise of a particular outcome. The Warzone guide says the reported player may be told that they were reported and why, but not who submitted the report. Activision also says it cannot provide account-specific updates about resulting enforcement because that information is confidential. See the Warzone reporting guide.
Activision’s Security and Enforcement Policy, updated July 31, 2026, states: “Reports by other players may also support enforcement.” The policy says its coverage includes Call of Duty titles starting with Modern Warfare (2019) and later console and PC titles; it also describes other detection methods, including client- and server-side systems, gameplay application monitoring, behavior models, and hardware validation.

Make a careful, honest report
- Choose the closest accurate reason and describe only what you observed. An unusual kill or an apparent ability to track someone through cover is not, by itself, proof of cheating.
- Use the in-game reporting flow rather than confronting, harassing, or publicly accusing a player based on suspicion.
- Do not submit knowingly false reports or spam reports against legitimate players. Activision’s policy defines these as malicious reporting and lists temporary suspension from reporting features among possible additional penalties.
- Do not use cheats, unauthorized software, or unsupported cheating peripherals to investigate. Activision’s policy identifies unauthorized software used to gain an unfair advantage and unsupported cheating peripherals as sanctionable conduct.
The cited reporting instructions do not ask you to attach a recording, so a capture card or recording setup is not required to submit a report.
