That response addresses Xbox and PC/Steam; it does not individually settle every possible platform pairing. The official pages reviewed do not announce cross-play, so check the game’s official website and updates for any later change.
Does cross-platform multiplayer mean the game supports cross-play?
No. Multiplayer player counts describe how many players can join a session, not whether players on different platform families can join the same session. The Xbox listing supports Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S and lists online multiplayer/co-op for 2–8 players: Xbox listing. Can you transfer saves or progress between platforms?
No. Official support says cross-platform saves are not supported, even if you link multiple platform accounts to one Apex Connect account. Account linking does not move your save or progress to another platform: Apex Connect account-linking support.
Does DLC ownership work across platforms?
The publisher says a multiplayer party can access a paid DLC reserve if one member owns it. That is a limited party-access rule for the reserve; it is not evidence that DLC purchases transfer between platforms, that saves transfer, or that players on different platforms can join the same session: Expansive Worlds game page.

What to check before choosing a platform
- Choose the same platform family as the friends you want to play with; the documented Xbox-to-PC/Steam pairing does not support cross-play.
- If you need to keep one save across systems, the game does not support cross-platform saves.
- Check that the edition and any reserve or DLC you want are available on your platform. Do not assume a purchase transfers between storefronts.
- Before making a new decision, check official announcements for a newer cross-play update; the cited developer response is dated May 19, 2025.
The official site announced Peru as the game’s 19th destination in June 2026, but that update is game-content news, not a cross-play announcement: official game updates.
