When did Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 come out?
Version 3.0 launched January 15, 2025. HoYoverse named the update “Paean of Era Nova.” Its central addition was Amphoreus, a new world that begins a story arc planned to run across versions 3.0 to 3.7.
Yang Yu, Honkai: Star Rail’s technical lead, said the Amphoreus Trailblaze Mission would arrive in two parts over those eight versions, and described it as the game’s largest story arc to date. That is the publisher’s characterization of the story, not an independently measured comparison. PlayStation Blog’s January 13, 2025 announcement covered the release plan.
What is Amphoreus?
Amphoreus is the new world the Astral Express visits after Penacony. Version 3.0 takes players through locations including the Abyss of Fate, Okhema, Castrum Kremnos, and the Vortex of Genesis.

The story introduces the Chrysos Heirs and their Flame-Chase journey to reclaim the Titans’ Coreflames. Version 3.0 opens that broader narrative rather than resolving it as a standalone story.
What changed in combat?
The Trailblazer gains the Remembrance Path
During the Amphoreus story, the Trailblazer obtains the Path of Remembrance and gains Mem as a combat summon. Mem gradually charges Energy. Once charged, Mem’s Support lets a designated character act immediately and deal additional True DMG.

Two new five-star characters
The update overview highlighted The Herta and Aglaea as its two new five-star characters. Their announced combat identities are distinct:
- The Herta: Ice, Erudition. She uses Interpretation stacks on enemies to strengthen her damage.
- Aglaea: Lightning, Remembrance. She summons her memosprite Garmentmaker, which participates in coordinated attacks.
The version overview also listed reruns for Lingsha, Feixiao, Jade, Boothill, Robin, and Silver Wolf across the update’s two halves. March 7th received a Preservation outfit that players could claim during the version period after unlocking the Characters function. These are version-period details, not a guide to currently available banners or rewards. The PlayStation Blog announcement describes the characters and mechanics.

Amphoreus exploration
- Flying Amphorae provide a movement-speed boost when smashed.
- The Hand of Zagreus, found in Castrum Kremnos, helps with exploration by lifting heavy objects, picking up items, breaking paths, and attacking enemies in special circumstances.
Relic customization and guidance
Version 3.0 revised the Leveling Guide and introduced Wishful Resin and Variable Dice. The update described these as tools for targeted modification and redistribution of Relic main and sub stats, giving players more ways to customize Relics.

Were there limited-time rewards?
HoYoverse advertised a seven-day check-in reward of ten Star Rail Special Passes for the version period. It was a time-limited promotion tied to version 3.0, not a reward that can be assumed to remain claimable now. HoYoverse’s version 3.0 announcement listed the promotion.
