Walking Wake does not normally appear in Paldea. It was available only through a limited 5-star Tera Raid event in Pokémon Scarlet, and that event ended on January 4, 2026. As of October 8, 2026, there is no confirmed active raid, no announced return date, and no confirmed permanent way to obtain it in the games.
What “Paradox Suicune” refers to
The official name is Walking Wake. Pokémon’s own event announcement uses that name, and Pokémon’s 2023 announcement confirmed the naming and the version pairing described below. Searches for “Paradox Suicune” are useful for finding the page, but if you are checking an event or a Pokédex entry, use Walking Wake.
Which game the event was in
The raid event was split by game version. Walking Wake was assigned to Pokémon Scarlet, and its paired Paradox Pokémon, Iron Leaves, was assigned to Pokémon Violet. Both appeared in 5-star Tera Raid Battles.
| Game version | Paradox Pokémon featured | Raid type | Event window | Status as of October 8, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pokémon Scarlet | Walking Wake | 5-star Tera Raid Battles | December 19, 2025, 00:00 UTC to January 4, 2026, 23:59 UTC | Ended. No return date announced. |
| Pokémon Violet | Iron Leaves | 5-star Tera Raid Battles | December 19, 2025, 00:00 UTC to January 4, 2026, 23:59 UTC | Ended. No return date announced. |
Walking Wake cannot be found by exploring Paldea. Its only documented route in the games was the raid event, so a Scarlet save without an event raid will not show it on the map.

Is Walking Wake available now?
No event found in the official sources is currently running. The announcement says Walking Wake and Iron Leaves “may be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods.” It does not give a date for a future event or name a specific alternate method. Treat any claim of a live Walking Wake raid as unverified unless it appears in Poké Portal News in your game.
Requirements for joining a raid event
If a future event follows the same format, these were the stated requirements for the January 2026 event:
Rank #2
- If you purchase either the physical or digital double pack, you will receive a 200 Poké Ball bonus via download codes* that can be entered in the Mystery Gift** feature in your game!
- The packaged version of the double pack includes 1 physical Pokémon Scarlet game and 1 physical Pokémon Violet game
- Catch, battle, and train Pokémon in the Paldea Region, a vast land filled with lakes, towering peaks, wastelands, small towns, and sprawling cities
- Choose either Sprigatito, Fuecoco, or Quaxly, to be your first partner Pokémon before setting off on your journey through Paldea
- Latest Poké Portal News: the event page said players needed the latest news in-game to take part in event raids.
- Story progress for 5-star raids: 5-star raids became available after finishing the main story. Players who had not finished the story could join raids hosted by other Trainers in multiplayer.
- Nintendo Switch Online: online multiplayer required a Nintendo Switch Online membership.
- The other game version: Trainers could join a raid hosted by a player on the opposite version, so a Scarlet player could join an Iron Leaves raid hosted in Violet, and the reverse. The raids had to be active for this to work.
If you already caught Walking Wake
The featured special Walking Wake could be caught only once per save file. If your save already has it from the event, you cannot catch another through that raid. Battling the raid could still earn rewards, according to the official event page.
What to do if you want to find it
- Check Poké Portal News in-game for any new Tera Raid event. Do not rely on third-party posts for raid status.
- If an event appears, confirm which game version it is listed for before you start, since Walking Wake was tied to Scarlet and Iron Leaves to Violet in the January 2026 event.
- Make sure your story is complete if you want to host or join 5-star raids alone. Otherwise, join a multiplayer raid hosted by another Trainer, with Nintendo Switch Online active.
- If your save already has the featured catch from a previous event, expect battle rewards only.
Collector note: the trading card game
Walking Wake also appears in the Scarlet & Violet—Temporal Forces trading card expansion, including a Walking Wake ex card. That card does not help you find or catch the Pokémon in the video game. For retail TCG products, Pokémon Support recommends major retail stores and reputable local hobby shops.

- The Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions Booster Bundle contains six booster packs from Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions.
- A great way to get multiple booster packs without getting having to buy packs individually or having to get a full booster box.
- A great gift for any Pokemon collector or player.
What is and is not established
The schedule and the one-catch rule come from the January 2026 event announcement. The announcement left future availability open, so no next date or alternate method can be stated as fact. Because the event has ended, the most reliable current answer is that Walking Wake is not obtainable in Scarlet or Violet right now unless Pokémon announces a new event.
For the game itself, the relevant title is Pokémon Scarlet for Nintendo Switch, since that was the version where the Walking Wake raid appeared.
