Three are in Coastal Bonescape, three in The Howl, three in Idolator’s Noose, and one in Dissected Plateau. Most of them are easier to find by their entrance than by their map marker: an attic opening, a water-side pipe, a cave, a climbable wall, or an underground passage. The walkthrough below is organized by region and landmark, because guides number the caches differently and a number alone will not help you find the right one.
Coastal Bonescape: three caches
All three caches here sit near the coast or around the Harper’s Hideaway and Haywire Shire areas. Each one needs a different kind of search.

Sarrett’s Jetty
Head to the water on the west coast. PowerPyx places this cache on the beach between two sheds, so scan the shoreline near the buildings rather than the open sand.
Covered bridge near Harper’s Hideaway
Walk into the enclosed bridge and look up at the ceiling for an opening. Double-jump through it to reach the attic or second level above the broken-down car, where the cache is located. Borderlands guides agree on this entrance, which makes it one of the more reliable finds in the region.

Haywire Shire
Check the hill above the house, or the roof above the house, depending on which approach you take. If Rippers are nearby, clear them before you start climbing, since they will interrupt the search.
The Howl: three caches
The Howl has the most varied entrances in the game’s Fadefields caches. Two are reached through water or cave openings, and one requires a side mission route.
Gushing Turret, water entrance
From the map marker, head toward the water and inspect the wall or pipe for an opening. Enter the water-side drain to reach the cache beneath the tower.

Thresher cave
This cache is in the cave tied to the “Breeding Daisies” side mission. Work through the Threshers inside, then use the side landing or platform and glide to the camp area that holds the cache. Guides describe this route differently, so orient yourself by the cave and the side camp rather than by a single step-by-step path.

Find the cave, then climb the nearby wall to enter its deeper section. Clear or pass the Ripper encounter and keep moving toward the exit area. The cache is beside the Red Chest.
Idolator’s Noose: three caches
These caches are spread across a settled area, a higher section of a location, and an unmarked settlement, so search each one on its own terms.

Near Someday Rise and Watershed Gate
Follow the route toward Someday Rise. Climb the stairs and the first wall, then look down into the pit before the next wall. The cache is in that pit.
Racketrun
Search the southern, higher part of the location. One guide places the cache inside a building or shed and notes that it can be picked up during the “Sum of His Parts” side mission, so check whether that mission is active before you return.

Dissected Plateau: one cache
This is the only cache in the region, and it is underground.
Near Synthetic Nave
Look just east of the map marker for an open sewer grate or pipe entrance, then follow it inside to reach the cache.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Tracking caches on the map
Collectible icons appear as you approach an area, and you can place a waypoint on one to guide you toward it. PowerPyx reports that hovering over a region on the map shows its collectible progress, and map filters can isolate icons, which helps when you are cleaning up the last few caches in a region.
Best Value
- BORDERLANDS 4 — Enter Kairos as one of four new Vault Hunters and take on a ruthless tyrant in this action looter shooter.
- THE TIMEKEEPER — Break free from the oppressive Timekeeper as a world-altering catastrophe unleashes Mayhem across Kairos.
- BE A BADASS — Blast through enemies with an arsenal of weapons, use dynamic movement abilities, and unleash your Vault Hunter's Action Skills in intense shooter combat.
- BUILD YOUR VAULT HUNTER — Customize your build with branching skill trees and pursue powerful gear as you take on enemies across Kairos.
- EXPLORE KAIROS — Ride your hover bike across lush fields, towering peaks, and deadly deserts, discovering warring factions, dynamic events, quests, and unforgettable characters.
Some collectibles require story progress or a side mission before they can be reached. A practical cleanup route is to finish the relevant missions and activities first, then return to any icons still on the map. This matters for caches such as Racketrun and the Thresher cave, which are tied to specific side missions.
Shared Character Progression and older saves
Borderlands Support confirms that Survivalist Caches count toward Shared Character Progression. The support page states: “Shared Character Progression includes collectibles, activities, SDU points, and map progress – which will all now be the same from one character to another.” The page was published March 18, 2026 and updated July 1, 2026.
Starting with update 1.7 (May 28, 2026), you can choose whether to enable shared progression when you create a new save. The choice appears after difficulty selection, and a new save can opt out at that point. Existing saves created before the update can receive combined map progress retroactively, but they cannot be retroactively opted out of shared progression.
Quick Recap
What is and is not confirmed
- Ten caches in The Fadefields is the consistent count across the guides consulted. PowerPyx (2025) and Gamer Guides (2025, last updated September 25, 2026) both list ten.
- The route details differ between guides, especially for the Thresher cave and the Gushing Turret water entrance. If a route does not match what you see, use the landmark and the access clue, not a fixed sequence of moves.
- The sources do not establish whether later game updates or platform-specific versions changed cache locations or rewards. Treat the positions above as correct for the sources’ dates, and check the map if a marker has moved.
- No reward value, drop rate, or time estimate is established. The sources say only that caches provide gear when opened.
